 Significance-Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of modern industry.


No country is expected to ignore it. CSR related research has been reported from a
number of countries. Therefore, the planned work will be of great significance. The work
will analyze the CSR situation in india. It will make data available for policy makers and
researchers.The proposed research will specifically contribute towards the following:

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) practices in India.

Steps taken by Pharmaceutical industry towards sustainability.

Effect of CSR practices on Stakeholders of the industry (Employees and Consumers)

This study can be used for companies to gain a competitive advantage.

 Aims & Objectives


 To study the organizational efforts for CSR practices followed by top companies for CSR
& sustainability for society.
 To study impact of CSR on performance of organizations.
 To study the existing CSR programs and make suggestions in order to improvise the
corporate sustainability.
 To study importance of CSR as a part of marketing strategy.

 Research Methodology- Secondary data collection has been used for conducting
dissertation study because of following key advantages of the method.

The information already exists and is readily available quick & low cost
Helps guide the focus of any subsequent primary research being conducted
Internal secondary data uses categories and breakdowns that reflect a corporation’s
preferred way of structuring the world
Secondary research may be the only available source of specific pieces of information
(i.e. government data)

Conclusion

 CSR can be adopted by firms as a tool of marketing strategy in order to gain competitive
advantage in present competitive scenario.
 CSR has became a tool for marketing and strategic planning.
 CSR activities play a role in buying decision.
