Feederline Equalizer Specs

The document provides product specifications for Motorola's FFE-8-**S/RP series of feederline equalizers. The equalizers compensate for cable slope to improve signal specifications and include optional return path attenuation to enhance signal-to-noise performance. The equalizers are contained in the same housing as other Motorola network components and are available in various bandwidth and frequency split configurations. The document lists technical specifications for different equalizer models including insertion loss, return and forward flatness, return loss, current capacity, and hum modulation performance.

ADVANCED SYSTEM DESIGN PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

FFE-8-**S/RP Feederline Equalizer

The Motorola FFE-8-**S/RP series of feederline
equalizers is designed to compensate for feeder cable
slope, and thus provide improved "window"
specifications. The latest version of Motorola’s FFE
product includes the option of adding attenuation to
the return path (5-40 MHz) that enables improved
signal-to-noise performance and tighter gain
variances. The equalizer circuit is contained in the
same type of housing as the SSP splitters, directional
couplers, and power inserters.

All Motorola FFE-8-**S/RP equalizers are available

in a variety of bandwidths and frequency splits. All
electronics are included in the faceplate so that
upgrades and replacements can be performed without
splicing in a new housing. All models, except the
FFE-HSG/87S/RP, are shipped with an 8 dB
FEATURES equalizer installed. The FFE-HSG/87S/RP is shipped
• Installed 8 dB Forward Equalizer without a plug-in equalizer and will accept any
• Return path attenuation possible for frequency Motorola SFE-*-* plug-in equalizer, in
improved system performance via a plug-in any available dB value.

• 750 MHz and 870 MHz Models Available The FFE-8-**S/RP feederline equalizers include
• Backward Compatible With All Motorola return path padding capability. Return path padding
