• Disabled Women South Africa (DWSA)

As the name suggests, DWSA forms part of DPSA,
but is focused specifically on disabled women.

In addition to promoting gender equality among the

non-disabled and disabled people in general, DWSA
heads up various initiatives to provide disabled women
with access to opportunities in all spheres of life.

• Disabled Youth South Africa (DYSA)

DYSA is focused on addressing the issues faced by
disabled youth. The programme and its various
initiatives including workshops, career days, etc.
aim to provide equal opportunities for education
and development to these youths.

• HIV/AIDS and TB Awareness

The HIV/AIDS and TB Awareness programme
consists of various projects throughout South Africa
– specifically aimed at creating awareness and
providing information about HIV/AIDS and TB to
the disabled community.

• Farming Projects
DPSA’s branches throughout South Africa assist the
disabled community to establish and sustain various
farming projects, such as one in the Wolseley/Tulbagh
area. This project was established in 2014 and despite
many challenges, have created a sense of pride for
the local disabled community, while even providing
temporary employment for the youth and other
members from disadvantaged communities during
harvest time.
