1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

1.1 The Target Market and Projections

HOUSE CODE provides a QR Code generating service as well as serial number that
can be used to confirm the authenticity of a product. There is more than 10 million
women wearing hijab in the present. However, for the past few years, there has been
an increase in the number of fake and copy items sold in the market. Established brands
such as Neelofar Hijab, dUck scarves and tudung people are also a victim of these
copy items. Due to the increase in number of fake and copy items, our company
provides a service that can aid the consumers in confirming the originality of the
product (hijab) bought. HOUSE CODE ensures customers satisfaction and a clean
revenue for the seller on each purchase.

1.2 End Result of the Design

HOUSE CODE services focus on the top three market segmentation as the target
marketing which are geographic segmentation, psychographic segmentation and
demographic segmentation. In geographic segmentation, our service target market is
in every region of Malaysia's states. This is because the generation of the codes are
done in the office and laboratory and there is no other cost incurred such as shipping
or transport. The transactions as well as discussion regarding the service can be done
online through Skype and email. Ads regarding our service can also be put up on social
media such as Instagram, twitter and Facebook. By utilising technology and the power
of social media, we are positive that we can provide the service according to the target
market.

Next for psychographic segmentation, the target customers are hijab brands such as
Qaira Hijab, ProperHijab, dUck scarves, Diana shawl, Tudung People including other
established scarves company. Then, in demographic segmentation, our target is the X

3
and Y generation that has a higher frequency of purchase, fashion fan ship, attitude
and impulse buying than other cohorts. As the hijab fashion grows into a global fashion
trend, there is a need to provide these services that helps to ensure the originality and
quality of a product.

1.3 The Competitive Advantages

HOUSE CODE advantages are the price points and product offerings. Apart from that,
the business has the ability to provide a good customer service. The unique features of
HOUSE CODE are the cost of the service, product/service differentiation where no
other company in Malaysia provides this service, and niche strategies. With much
lesser cost, HOUSE CODE can produce a good or service of equal value at a lower
price or in a more desirable fashion to ensure the credibility and quality of a brand.
These conditions allow the HOUSE CODE to generate more sales or superior margins
compared to other market rivals.

1.4 The Profitability

As income and expenditure significantly influence hijab fashion consumption, a secure

and trusted brand is what consumers are looking for. HOUSE CODE believe that we
can deliver what the consumers want by providing this service. More and more people
are donning the hijab and it has resulted to hijab as a global fashion. In the first year
2019, the estimated profit from the service is about RM50,000 followed by the second
and third year which are RM100,000 and RM200,000 respectively.

2.0 PRODUCT OR SERVICE DESCRIPTION

2.1 Service Description

HOUSE CODE service utilises the technology-based solution that is adopted to solve
the problem of other sellers that rebrands and copy scarf product - Quick Response
Code (QR code). In other definition, QR codes are square barcodes (two-dimensional
barcodes) that store information in a machine-readable optical label. The idea is to
provide a service of creating a QR-Code for hijab to ensure the authenticity of a hijab
in the market. These codes are generated and processed according to the number of
orders or products as listed by the customer in the office or laboratory by the
programmer and IT manager. HOUSE CODE is capable of generating several hundred
thousand of QR code and serial number. HOUSE CODE will also provide to the client
a list of serial numbers along with the QR code. These codes are going to be displayed
in the clients’ website.

2.2 Application of the Product or Service

This QR-Code can be scanned through certain applications on the mobile. So, users
can scan and verify that the hijab is genuine. Therefore, a consumer of a product will
not be hesitant to buy and be more confident if the authenticity of the item can be easily
checked. It is very quick and easy without the need to type long URLs on the website.
Thus, it as easily reachable by downloading an optical reader application on
smartphones. Once the codes are generated, it will be patch up to the cloth-label of the
scarves. This process however, is done by the brand itself at their production house.

Figure 2.1 Product/Service Application

2.3 Unique Features of the Service

As a consumer ourselves, HOUSE CODE acknowledges the needs to ensure the

products bought are authentic and original. Many established companies carry their
name, brand and quality on the product itself hence, originality and quality are their
utmost importance. The service we proposed will help them to ensure that the
consumers especially their loyal customers get the best from their brand and is satisfied
with their purchase. As the market for hijab is getting wider year by year and many
small companies are thriving to promote their brand and product, authentication and
originality is a must to help them grow. Apart from embedding the brands’ label on
the product, our service ensure that the product is truly authentic and not a copy or
fake item. Once the code is scanned, the costumers will be directed to the
brand/company’s website which displays the information on the product purchased.

HOUSE CODE is now on development prototype state where we are trying our best
to provide and ensure the service is suitable to offer. The IT department are still
selecting the best system to produce and generate the codes as well as the serial number
as well as designing the display on the website. The cost to generate one (1) code is
between RM15-20 including the serial number. This cost incorporates the manpower
and workforce as well as other miscellaneous resources needed to provide this service

2.5 Patents or Other Proprietary Features of the Product or Service

There are four main types of IP we use for the QR code generation such as patents,
trademarks, designs and copyrights. To patent this service rights, we planned to
register with Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO). Besides that, the
code generated is ensure to be unique and a database is designed to store all the
information regarding the generated code and serial number. Next, for this service, we
have our own specifications and code for the product depending on its shape, size,
colour and materials or as requested by the client. HOUSE CODE will also sign an
exclusive contract with each and every client to ensure that the same code will not be
used for another client. Lastly, the copyrights notice for this product is any

8
infringement of the service and design specialty will be taken into the legal action
within five years from the act.

2.6 Opportunities for Service Expansion or the Development of the Service

A business opportunity involves the sale or lease of any product, service, equipment
and so on that will enable the purchaser-licensee to begin a business. There are a lot of
opportunities we have seen in expanding this service such as the product line and/or
the product development. We also planned to provide other services such as website
maintenance or database update for the clients. For the product line, we target the
loyalty of our customers as they are our business backbone. We will use an email
marketing as a marketing tool for every discount campaign. Then, we will increase the
potential number of customers by setting up booth or branches on each and every state
in Malaysia during innovation fair and other relatable industry.

We will also develop a consumer product survey and take into serious account the
customers comment and opinion to improve the service. Next, we are ambitiously
planning to introduce our services worldwide not only in Malaysia through our website
and variety sources of social media. Besides that, we also want to open our company
branch in nearby Asian countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, etc. Our
development plan on this service is it will continuously be developed and updated
through the new research and we will improvise it for better experience. In the future,
we will add new systems and technology to generate the codes will also be considered
to provide a satisfactory service for our clients in accordance with the upcoming
technology trends in order to fulfil people need and demands. However, we also know
that every part of journey will face the difficulty, but we always be positive and tend
to look for solution on it. This is because as the inventors, we believe that thousands
of inventions fail to become a profitable product.

7.0 Project Milestone

A project milestone is a task of zero period that shows a significant accomplishment

in a project. The milestones should signify a clear order of events that incrementally
form up until the project is complete. Project milestones are a way of knowing how
the project is advancing, especially if not familiar with the tasks being executed. They
have zero duration because they symbolize an accomplishment, or a point of time in a
project. Since a milestone’s start and end date depends on a task’s start and end date,
task association is a major feature of a milestone.
