Organic Fertilizer for Farmers

1. The document introduces a study that aims to create an organic fertilizer using ripe mango as the main ingredient. Mango contains the same nutrients as commercial fertilizers such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and carbohydrates. 2. The objectives are to determine if mango components can be used as an organic fertilizer, to compare the growth of plants fertilized with organic versus commercial fertilizers, and to create a cheaper fertilizer. 3. It is hypothesized that there will be no significant difference in plant growth between the fertilizer treatments. The study aims to benefit farmers by providing a lower-cost organic fertilizer alternative.

Chapter I: Introduction

I. Background of the Study

Many of us now, are having low rate of harvesting crops due to some problems. In this IP, the
researchers are going to use ripe mango as the main ingredient for making organic fertilizer. Since
commercialized fertilizers has a components of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium and
Carbohydrates the reason why they used mango, because it has this components also it is common
here in the Philippines. If this project succeed this can be profitable for business and can encourage
others to look for other use of our country’s natural resources.

II. Objectives
1. To know if the components of mangoes that’s the same as commercialized fertilizers can
be used as an organic fertilizers.
2. To infer if the organic fertilizer make plants grow bigger than the commercialized fertilizer
3. To produce cheaper fertilizer; with a less cost the might help the community

III. Hypothesis
There is no significant difference among the treatments in terms of, plant height & numbers
of leaves (Diaz F.A.S., 2010-2011:18). If watering the plant with too little or too much fertilizer
will slow down plant growth.

IV. Significance of the Study

The ones who will benefit from this IP are the farmers, since they need to use fertilizers for
their crops, they’ll use it to harvest good fruits. Also students who want to make fertilizers. Others
who will benefit from these are the people, because they need food and farmers need to use
fertilizers for their crops. They can be helped by following these procedure or, they can buy organic
fertilizers cheaper than the inorganic or commercialized fertilizers.
V. Scope and Limitations
The study aims to provide a quantitative analysis of the various effects of the different
fertilizers out in the market today. Since inorganic fertilizers not only affect plants but also higher
forms of life as well. This study only used Mangoes and Molasses.

VI. Definition of Terms

Mangoes. A mango is a kind of tropical fruit, known for its yellowish or greenish color depends
how ripe it is.
Fertilizers. A fertilizer is a kind of chemical substance, that is added to the soil to increase it’s
fertility
Molasses. A molasses is kind of sugar, known for its thick texture and brown color, it is rich in
carbohydrates
Carbohydrates. An organic compound occurring in foods and living tissues like sugars, starch,
