1.ABSTRACT
The intent of this Research is to explore how architecture can inform healing or provide
spaces and events where healing can take place. We as human beings have an inner
connection with our environment by physical, mental, emotional and spiritual means. This
connection can create a dynamic life that people can thrive in every aspect.
Through work, aging or learning, people are able to participate and contribute to this
connection with our environment. Furthermore, the arts and art therapy have, over the years,
been used to heal different aliments such as cancer, mental illness, aids, addiction and the
elderly have been successful in doing so as it heals across all ages and race. The question I
pose is can architecture do the same? Besides, can architecture play a superior role in
healing? In our built environment we often interact with the buildings themselves without
realizing the great influence that such built environments and surroundings hold. Can we
create those interactions by evidence based design methods? Mental health has been a
debated topic to centuries and still today, the common being has not grasped its complexities
that bound us all unique.
This researchrepresents an attempt to summarize my findings on the role of planning and
architecture in the healing process. This research commence with defining, what does healing
means? And then discourse of art to study the root of the healing.

2. INTRODUCTION:-
The science of naturopathy or nature cure is as old as nature itself. It is oldest of all the
prevailing systems of medicine and thus it can be called the mother of all the prevailing
systems ..All important aspects of nature cure are given in Vedas such as fasting and
treatment by water.
After the Vedic period came Pauranic period in which Also the system of
nature cure prevailed. The use of Medicines Started with the period of Ravan after this
general public also started using medicine as treatment as very easy by medicines.
.To maintain health ,it is necessary to prevent diseases or cure it. Nature cure is
one of the most effective and cheap methods of maintaining health.
There is a regulatory agency in the body that maintains its health. This agency the
vital force , the force that combats diseases to preserve the health of the body. The
moment any foreign substances enters the body, the vital forces come into play for
rejecting the intrusive element. In that case even the medicine are foreign body thus it is
not the medicine or a drug that acts on the body , but It is body’s response or reaction to
the medicine. Again It sets the vital forces in action ,so nature cure treatments which are
accordance with the law of nature do not involve any kind of Injection of foreign bodies
like drugs.

4. PRIMARY DATA COLLECTION:-
4.1 What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy deals with the healing power of nature since It believes that all healing powers
are within our body. This means that within every human organism there is a healing energy,
which includes our immune organism system in the fuller sense of the physical and the
psyche, which is responsible for our wellness and our ability to heal and maintain health.
Since we fall ill only when we go against Nature the cause of diseases (toxins) is expelled
from the body to cure it.fasting has been described as nature’s way to recover. A thorough
rest which includes fasting is the most favorable condition in which an ailing body can purify
and recoup itself.
Naturopathy is fast gaining popularity around the world for its safe and effective healing
in india homes home remedies come before the trip to the doctor all aliments are believed to
be caused by what you eat and what you don’t eat Hence a traditional Indian doctor will first
make slight adjustments to your diet before he prescribes a medic medicine, which the last
resort.
4.2What are the natural methods of living and of treatment?

constructive principles are as follows.
4.4PRINCIPALES OF NATUROPATHY-
The entire philosophy is based upon three principles which has been tested and proved from
over a century of successful. Naturopathy treatments all around the world these principles are
as follows.
1ST principle- All disease are due to accumulation of toxins and waste material’s. In the
human body which get piled up due to improper diet lack of exercise mental stress and excess
work This first principle refers to the application of various methods to clear the human
system from these toxins and accumulated waste. This first principle refers to the application
of various methods to clear the human system from these toxins and accumulated waste. This
first principle is the basis of all the natural treatments follow the cure of any disease.
17
2nd principle- When toxins accumulate in the body difference organs of the body like the
bowels kidneys and lungs are overworked and cannot clear them as quickly as the produced
moreover mental disturbance and stress imbalance in the body s electric field where call
metabolism takes place when this electric field is undisturbed germs can live without
multiplying but once it is disturbed the germ multiplies and cause disease. Other major
disease like asthma diabetes and heart problems are the direct result of not curing the acute
disease by natural methods and their continued suppression by employing harmful methods
such as the modern drugs and vaccines.
3rd principal-the human body is equipped with a unique self- healing mechanism, which will
bring back the body to normal conditions of health, if proper natural methods are used to
assist the system to function properly.
4.5The five elements:-
before creation took place there was nothing except gold or supreme soul in the beginning 0f
creates on first. Ether was formed by the power of consciousness of the supreme soul or gold
later out of ether air was born then fire then water and finally earth.
Air
Out of five elements air is the second element which is necessary for life air is praan
of all the living beings
Air has two qualities i.e. is sound and touch
Fire
Fire is use for sun. sun is the one of the five elements which is behind the creation
however while ether and air are not seen a” god or creator is not seen but sun element
can be seen.
Even today hindu and pareses regard sun as god.
Water

and smell.
Ether
Ether element is the most effective of all the nave elements just as the supreme reality
is formless and indestructible ether is also formless and indestructible.
It has one quality i.e. sound ether element is also the basis of the universe fasting is a
powerful means to attain this element.
NATURE CURE THERAPIES
Massage Therapy
Oil Massage helps in toning up the body and is performed by experienced masseurs. Pure oil
is used and is smeared and then kneaded all over the body systematically. The benefits
include improved blood circulation to various parts of the body.
19
It cleans the skin pores thereby improving skin activity and its excretory function by
activating the sweat and sebaceous glands. It also stimulates the millions of nerve endings
that are located in the skin.
Vibro Massage is a dry massage that involves applying mild talcum powder on the body by
machine to reduce friction. Various applicators are used and thus the massaged body parts are
subject to thorough vibrations thereby stimulating the circulatory and nervous systems.
Other massages include Partial Massage, Ice Massage to head & spine and Under Water
Massage.
Mud Therapy
Mud or Earth is one of the five elements of nature and is very effective on your body in
health or sickness.
It is one of the more commonly used Naturopathy treatments because mud has heat extracting
properties due it retaining moisture over long periods of time. When applied to the body it
cools down the treated part and reduces inflammation, also improving circulation of blood.
It also acts as a great purifier as it removes toxins from your system by stimulating your
circulatory system. Mud along with water makes for a simple but very effective massage
therapy process.
20
Hydro Therapy
Water, another element of the five elements of nature has multiple therapeutic effects. During
ancient times royalty used to bathe in essential oils and flowers and in spring water to cure
illnesses.
Today, Hydrotherapy is used as a tool to cure various diseases and to improve body fitness.
Methods include hip bath, enema, spinal spray, deluxe hydro massage, steam and sauna, hot
foot and arm bath, contrast hydro massage etc.
Nature Cure Diet
It was preached by Hippocrates "Thy food thy medicine and thy medicine thy food" and
rightly so.
Diet is the single most important aspect of your Naturopathy treatment. A nutritious diet
plays a major role by providing your body much needed nutrients and thereby recuperating
21
organs. The science of Ayurveda too emphasizes on the importance of a proper diet to cure
ailments.
Maintaining a proper diet can help in leading a healthy life with no supplemental medicine
required. Most of diseases arise from faulty food habits.
What does a Naturopathy diet consist of?
1. Fruits, vegetables and wholesome cereals. They have a lot of fibre and help in prevention
of gastritis, indigestion, cancer, diabetes etc.
2. Various fresh juices - One of the best methods of consuming natural foods is in the form of
juices. Fruit or vegetable juice are prescribed as per the patient and the illness.
What should be avoided?
Non-vegetarian foods are not part of a Naturopathy diet. Animal tissue when consumed
increases the toxicity level of the body and it is low in fibre and comparatively less nutritious.
Being high in calories it can lead to diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure among other
ailments.
CONClUSION :-
Horizontal planning has been adopted. The whole structure is ground floor . Load
bearing structure with Sloping roofs with either Mangalore tiles or A.c sheet. Buffer zone is
maintained as site is away from highway. Enough security is maintained . Economic wise
Accommodation is provided . For drinking water there is filtration plant. Consideration of
ramps in all area.
22
5. METHODOLOGY:-
Unbridled growth of industrialization and modern science and technology, has created a
Situation which prevents man from adequate care and attention even to his minimal personal
health needs. Man is running shirt of time, in this race he can hardly get time for relaxing his
body as well as mind. The new generation is growing on drugs, fighting with pollution,
physical and mental stress.
Now a day’s man has become aware that he needs relaxation and wants to come back to the
nature. But there is not sufficient space in the crowded cities, in the concrete jungle. Due to
all above reasons, lack of adequate and proper open spaces, man is facing physical and
mental problems like hypertension, obesity, nervous breakdown, mental stress and diseases
like psoriasis, diabetes. Due to disadvantages of allopathic treatment people are looking
towards the natural cure therapies.
So, it is necessary to provide such facilities to society. Where they can spend some time of
their routine with the nature. To encourage people to be separate from the stress life for short
term period to cure treatment in nature surrounding
23
6.ANALYSIS:
This analysis leads to the design of“NATURE CURE CENTRE” wheremain aim is to
provide wellnessservices which meet the needs of peope from all walks of life.
In todays scenario where in man leads a busy life and stress levels are always at higher
percentage while the urban life that he/she is surrounded with only adds on the stress level.
Thus arises a need…especially in the current life for men to find a retreat where he could
rejuvenate his senses, help, himself heal and strengthen himself from within.
Dive effortlessly into the healing ocean of soothing respite and come out on the cuddling
hands of Mother Nature, leaving behind all stress and fatigue. Well, that is why I believe to
be an “Ideal retreat”
Ideal Nature cure centre means entering into the customized paradise of effective holistic
healing through Naturopathy, Ayurveda ,Yoga and Meditation to reinstate the
physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual stability as well as harmony.
24
CONCLUSION:
Site should be located in the outside of the city such that it should be accessible to the
patients. The site should be easily connected to the main roads and with respect to public
transport. It should be surrounded by pleasant and natural environment. The design must help
people in surrounding impact As per the case studies important general feature must be
followed as per bye laws of the city. Particular meaningful concept must be followed for the
designing. It should represent the growth of our nation. Proper accommodation facility must
be provided for the patients. Natural features must be followed in interior features. Proper
security is an important features for the safety of nature cure Centre. Use of nature for the
design in a properly circulated way is important.
