Description
The project involves the construction of the Industrial Energy City project in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The city will be close to Abqaiq located in the
sprawling Rub Al Khali desert 60 kilometers southwest of the Dhahran-Dammam. Al Khobar metropolitan area close to the Aramco oil-processing facilities and will
develop energy-related industries.
The energy city will cover an area of approximately 50,000,000 square meters. The project aims to localize industries supporting the energy sector related to oil
exploration, production and refining, petrochemicals, traditional electric power and water production and treatment.
The project will have a wide range of products and services. They are targeting 70 types of industries to develop in the city, such as, Electronics & control systems,
Electrical components & systems, Vessels & tanks, Cooling systems, Fluid processing equipment, Valves, Pipes & tubular goods, Rotating equipment, Completion &
Downhole, Drilling fluids & Chemicals, Energy Related Building materials, Upstream services, Enabling services.
The project will include, industrial area (30.5 square kilometers), training area (3 square kilometer), residential area (9 square kilometers), commercial area (2
square kilometer), utilities (2 square kilometer) and logistics zone (3.5 square kilometers). The whole development is planned to be built in three phases.
Phase I will cover an area of 15 square kilometers. This will include, industrial area (9.5 square kilometers), training area (1 square kilometer), residential area (2
square kilometers), commercial area (1 square kilometer), utilities (1 square kilometer) and logistics zone (500 square meters)
Phase II will cover an area of 20 square kilometers. This will include, industrial area (13 square kilometers), training area (1 square kilometer), residential area
(3.5 square kilometers), utilities (500 square meter) and logistics zone (2 square kilometers)
Phase III will cover an area of 15 square kilometers. This will include, industrial area (8 square kilometers), training area (1 square kilometer), residential area
(3.5 square kilometers), commercial area (1 square kilometer), and logistics zone (1 square kilometers)
Upon completion, the project will accommodate 400 Industrial tenants, 10 Specialize institutes, 167,000 square meters of office space, 57,000 Direct jobs, 11,500
Workers labor-camp, 77,500 Residents, Wide range of retails & commercial services.
