It outlines five dangers: selective reading, selective listening, selective application, selective theology, and winner's circle theology. wagons > pre-railroad tramways > English railroads > English expatriates > US

See the importance of laying down the proper foundations?
Book. Goal. Theology; “study of God” not a totally new or different doctrine.
Prayer: Bible-based, Christ-centered. *
Christian life is pretty much written in black: love God, honor Him and follow the
leading of the HS. But we do face grey areas while in this world and our adversary
uses this to his advantage over the ignorant. Remember that he has had practice.
He is still scheming and even more cunning over the ages. He uses subtle/discrete
ways to mislead, even believers, astray. Pro 4:27 {Cebu history}
Symbolically just go straight up. But continue in a different direction and find that
the gap between where you are and where you should be, could grow dangerously
dangerous.
“Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” Be not
immersed, be warned of the danger! We are studying the 10 Dangers of Cat
Theology so we know what to watch out for. THESE ARE NOT GUIDELINES to
follow, BUT WARNINGS to avoid.

Feel-Good Theology
List down at least three of your favorite verses. What are they about?

Danger 1: Selective reading

o For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call
upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and
find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
o Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge
my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be
free from pain." And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10 Prayer of Jabez.
o I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of
sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death. Philippians 3:10 Prayer
of Paul.
o Rom 8:28, 29-30 | 8:31, 32-36
o Simple, Fool, Mocker, Wise | Sluggard, Prudent

Danger 2: Selective listening – John 3:16 | Jonah (disobedient, disciplined)

Danger 3: Selective application – p. 81
Danger 4: Selective theology – Cats interpreting Scripture the way they want.
Divorce, Homosexuality, Abortion, Annihilation Theology, Universalism, anything
“politically correct” and safe for humanity

Danger 5:
Winner’s Circle Theology

◊ Cats like the fastest horse at the end of the race, expect to be in the winner’s
circle.
◊ They always relate to the winners, the victors, the champions of the Scriptures.
But we must be constantly willing to learn from others and to see things
differently. Pray to always see things from God’s creative, but Holy and Loving,
point of view.
◊ They understand only Feel-Good theology – selecting the major characters, and
forgetting the minor ones.
◊ They want and expect life to be comfortable easy safe and always on top.
◊ Ex:
o Job and his family; prove to Satan that he was blameless and upright.
o David, and counting his men – 70k died because of David’s doubts [1 Co
21:14]
o Fox’s Book of Martyrs.
◊ Some He blesses with things, some He allow to be persecuted, some He brings
home early, … God has different ways of revealing and reflecting His glory. Be
open to all of the ways He chooses to do this.
