Bible Enthronement

A. Introductory Part

Song: Bless The Lord My Soul

( flower, candles, incense, reader, bible)

Antiphon: Let Him enter the King of glory, let Him enter the King of love.
(to be sung every after each verse)

1. The world and all who live in it belongs to the Lord;

The earth and all who live in it are his.
He built it on the deep waters beneath the earth and
laid its foundations in the ocean depths.

2. Who has the right to go up the Lord’s hill?

Who may enter his holy temple?
Those who are pure in act and I thought,
who do not worship idols or make false promises.

3. The Lord will bless them and save them

God will declare them innocent.
Such are the people who come to God,
who come into the presence of the God of Jacob.

4. Fling wide the gates, open the ancient doors,

And the great King will come in.
Who is the great King?
He is the Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, victorious in battle.

5. Fling wide the gates, open the ancient doors,

And the great King will come in.
Who is this great King?
The triumphant Lord – He is the great King.

Prayer Leader:

In the name of the Father…

Heavenly Father, we thank you for this opportunity to celebrate your

word enshrined in Sacred Scripture. We ask you to send us the Holy Spirit
that he may open and touch our minds and hearts, that we may discover,
understand and live your message for us. We make this prayer through
Christ your Son and our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit now and forever. Amen.

Please be seated.

B. Readings: John 8:12, 23

A reading from the gospel of John…

Jesus spoke to them saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever

follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life”
“If you remain in my word you will be my disciples, and you will
know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

….This is the word of the Lord.

Short silence

God’s Spirit in communicating his message to all: let us pray to the
Lord.

knowledge of the word of God so as to communicate the Good News more
effectively; let us pray to the Lord.

to feel its power and strength in us; let us pray to the Lord.

4. That we may find in his word our consolation, strength and guidance; let
us pray to the lord.
