Direction: Read the following questions properly, and write your answer on
the space provided below:

1. If you were to describe the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles,
how would that be?

Very strong wind and power by holy spirit, because on that day, as jesus
promised that he would give the holy baptism of the holy spirit before he went
to heaven, they would feel that jesus is the only child of god, and they would
shout it to the various language, the power of the holy spirit from god when no
one can match who, the holy spirit shows that god will never leave them as
his promise when he was still here on earth.

2. What happened after the apostles received the Holy Spirit?

The apostles were celebrating this festival when the Holy Spirit
descended on them. It sounded like a very strong wind, and it looked
like tongues of fire. The apostles then found themselves speaking in
foreign languages, inspired by the Holy Spirit.

3. What is the significance of the Pentecost event in the Church?

The festival of Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit


upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were
in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks, this event represents the
birth of the early church.

Act #1-Based from CFC 1300-1301, formulate at least two questions and
write your possible answers to your questions on the space below:

Question #1: How did the Risen Christ show his presence in the
world?
The Risen Christ was seen by his disciples, but especially experienced
through the teaching, the moral exhortation, and in the liturgical worship of
the early Christian communities.

Question #2: When will Christ’s Second Coming or take place?


Christ clearly affirmed that no one knows this, except the Father. It is
useless, therefore, to speculate on this “when.”

DENTIFICATION:

Human 1. The One who unites and animates the Church.


Jewish Holiday 2. The celebration fifty days after our celebration of
Easter.
Pentecost 3. It is known to be the birthday of the Church.
Pesach 4. It is a festival in the Jewish calendar which coincides
with Passover.
Tongues of fire 5. It is in this form that the Holy Spirit appeared to the
apostles on Pentecost day.

Lumen gentium 6. It is the term used by Vatican II which refers to the


people not yet reached by the Church.

Evangelist Luke 7. He is the one who wrote the Acts of the Apostles.

Divine power 8. This refers to the Holy Spirit promised by Jesus before
His ascension.

Jesus 9. He is the One who sent the Holy Spirit.

St. Paul 10. He describes the people of this New Covenant as “a


letter of Christ written not with ink but by the
Spirit of the living God,
not on tablet of stone but on the tablets of the human hearts”.

II- ESSAY: Explain the following questions briefly but concisely:


1. In what way is Pentecost becomes the birthday of the Church?

The major festival commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on


the Apostles and other disciples following the Crucifixion,
Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ. It also marks
a birthday the birth of the Catholic Church and the beginning of its
mission to the world.

2. As a Marian student, what can you do to help the Church in


spreading the Good news of salvation?

As a smc student, human salvation is in us, as man made by god, i will


improve, and love fellow human beings, because your love for man is where
god sees how much you love him too, It's not that you love god and you have
respect, but you have no respect for yourself and your fellow human beings.
I will show as a contribution to society, I do not know if I will also be saved,
because only god has the answer to everything, I will show good manners
how God loved man when he was still here, accept man no matter what he
was wrong like mary magdaline, because jesus said that no one can go to the
father except him.
