AMPALAYA or BITTERGOURD

This fruit is composed of a mixture of flavonoids and alkaloids which make the pancreas produce insulin that controls the blood
sugar levels in diabetics. Aside from its touted medicinal value, it's also a very wonderful source of vitamins A, B and C, iron, folic
acid, phosphorous and calcium.

 High in Dietary Fiber, Folate, Potassium, Manganese, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Thiamin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid,

Magnesium, Phosphorus and Copper

OKRA

 Okra is recommended for pregnant women, as it is rich in folic acid, which is essential in the neural tube formation of the
fetus between the 4th and 12th week of pregnancy.
 The mucilage and fiber found in okra helps adjust blood sugar by regulating its absorption in the small intestine.
 The fiber present in the vegetable helps in maintaining the health of the gastro-intestinal tract.
 The vegetable is good for asthma. The vitamin C present in it is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, helping curtail the
development of asthma symptoms.
 Okra is good for atherosclerosis, and it is also believed to protect some forms of cancer expansion, especially colorectal
cancer.
 Some researches have shown that eating okra lowers the risk of cataracts.
 Okra is good for preventing diabetes and protects from skin ailments like pimples and acne.

SWEET POTATO

 Being rich in dietary fiber, sweet potato lowers the risk of constipation, diverticulosis and colon and rectal cancer.
 Sweet potatoes have been found to helpful in minimizing the risk of heart disease, diabetes and obesity.
 Consumption of sweet potatoes has been known to help avoid stroke, by bringing down the harmful effects of low-density
cholesterol & preventing blood clots. .
 Owing to the presence of iron and calcium, sweet potatoes ensure proper blood flow and also improve bone density.
 Regular consumption of sweet potato is good for stomach ulcers and inflamed conditions of the colon.
 Being rich in vitamins and minerals, sweet potato is good for people involved in heavy muscular work.

STRING BEANS

 The presence of vitamin K in green beans makes them very good for maintaining the health of bones.
 Being rich in potassium, folate, magnesium and riboflavin, green beans are good for the cardiovascular health of an
individual.
 The vitamin C and beta-carotene in green beans lead to much lower risk of developing colon cancer.
 Studies have revealed that green beans help reduce the frequency of migraine attacks in people.
 Being rich in iron, green beans serve as a very good source of energy and are beneficial for menstruating as well as
pregnant women.
 Regular consumption of green beans has been associated with strengthening of the immune system.
