TITLE : PARTICIPATION TO THE 17TH REGIONAL MID-YEAR CONVENTION


DATE : October 1 – 3, 2018
VENUE : Venus ParkView Hotel, 19 Kisad Road, Burnham Park, 2600, Baguio City
Holiday Inn – Baguio City Center, Legarda Road

OBJECTIVES:
a. To further enrich the knowledge of the JPIAns in accounting through technical
sessions and academic contests, and in other fields of study through non-academic
contest;
b. To evaluate the capabilities of the JPIAns and at the same time review them in the
different subject areas in the CPA board through participation in the academic
contests; and
c. To strengthen the bond and camaraderie among JPIAns in Region I and CAR.

DESCRIPTION:
The Regional Mid-Year Convention is an avenue for all the members of the JPIA from
different chapters or universities to deepen their knowledge on matters of the different
areas of accounting and the like.
The said convention was a three-day activity which was held at the Baguio City last
October 1 – 3, 2018. The preparations made for the said activity were: eliminations, to
determine those students who are more likely to partake in a given contest, reviews and
other creative outputs which were submitted ahead of time.
All the participants were divided into categories which was based on the subjects for
CPA Board Examination. Most of the contests were done in a “quiz bee” type competition.
Non – academic competitions were also present, including fashion show, dance crew,
photography contest and pageant (AOG).
Some of the students were able to be recognized for topping one of the
competitions, some of which were, at least part of the top. The JPIA – UNP also got the title
for the Mr. Ambassador of Goodwill and 1st Place for the Ms. AOG.

Students who are able to have their place during the competitions are encouraged to
participate in the upcoming national level of the convention which is the National Mid-Year
Convention.

EVALUATION: The organization’s objectives were met.
