Inkscape has a lot of hotkeys that are usually accessed with the Shift modifier on most standard keyboards.
For instance, the Asterix (*) character enables Inkscapes Star/Polygon tool. On a standard QWERTY
keyboard, you would press Shift+8. Keep this in mind when using this cheat sheet.
Toolbox Other Editing Commands
• <: Scale down
• >: Scale up
• [: Rotate counter-clockwise
• ]: Rotate clockwise
• H: Flip selection horizontally
• V: Flip selection vertically
• Shift+Ctrl+C: Convert object to path
• Ctrl+Alt+C: Convert stroke to path
• Ctrl+D: Duplicate selection
• Alt+D: Clone selection
• Ctrl+G: Create group from selected objects
• Shift+Ctrl*G: Ungroup selection
• Ctrl+K: Combine paths
• Shift+Ctrl+K: Break apart paths
• %: Enable snapping
Layer/Stack Navigation
• Page Up: Raise selection in stack
• Page Down: Lower selection in stack
• Home: Raise selection to the top of the stack
• End: Lower selection to the bottom of the stack
• Shift+Page Up: Move selection to layer above
• Shift+Page Down: Move selection to layer below
Dialogs
• Shift+Ctrl+F: Fill and Stroke
• Shirt+Ctrl+L: Layers
• Shift+Ctrl+A: Align and Distribute
• Shift+Ctrl+E: Export Bitmap
