Hi
suresh
In the Enter Prise structure we define the org structure form the company to
shipping point
the highest level of the org structure is the COMPANY bewlo to it is the
COMPANY CODE and
1 company can have n number of company codes according the business that
country is operating
so from company to company code there is one --many relation
2. sales organisaton is the highest level of the unit that is created in the SD
module
3. below it is the distrinution channel
4 then next to it is te division
and the assignment of the sales organisation is dome to the company code
there SALES ORGANISATION is assigned to the COMPANY CODE
therefore the relation between the company code and the sales org s one--
many
5 then plant is created in MM Module and the plant is also assigned to the
company code
it is also the one --many relation
6. The relaton between the sales organisastion and te plant is that many--
many relation that means that we can assign plant to differenc sales org
7. The relation between the plant and the shipping point is that we can assigne
the plant and the shipping point as many to many relation
Relations
Company code--sales org Is one to many
Company code -plant Is One to many
Sales org to Plant is M any to many
Plant to the shipping is many to many
Rewards if needful

<b>Each entity is explained in detail below -</b>
1. A client can have at least one or more company codes. Each company code
represents its own legal entity. A company code is defined under finance
application module mostly at the country level. All the legal accounts are
submitted at the company code level.
2.A company code can have one or more sales organizations but the number of
sales organizations should be kept to a minimum i.e. one per company code,
unless the company is dealing with entirely different kind of business, for
example
..one sales org. dealing in manufacturing and the other in
pharmaceuticals.
3. Company code and credit control area are both defined and assigned under

4. A credit control area is an organization unit responsible for granting and
monitoring credit for customers.
5. This organizational unit is either a single company code or multiple company
codes if the credit check is performed across several company codes.
6. Credit information can be made available per customer within a credit control
area.
7. Within a credit control area, credit limits must be specified in the same
currency.
8. There can be more than one company code under a credit control but the
credit limits must be specified in a single currency.
9. A business area is an organizational unit within accounting that corresponds
to the highest level in costing structure of an org. and is basically used for
reporting purposes such a profitability analysis and frame suitable business
policies for that area. Business area is organized on the following criteria
functional lines, plant and division i.e. product lines or on regional responsibility
areas i.e. sales areas.
10. A functional area is an organizational unit under accounting that classifies
expenses of several functional areas of an org. such as admin, marketing,

assigned to more than one company code, but there could be several plants
under a single company code.
22. A plant is divided into several storage locations.
23. A plant can have several shipping points and one shipping point can be
assigned to several plants.
24. A plant has an address, language and belongs to a country.
25. Complete functionality of the R/3 system can only be ensured if the plants
assigned to the company code are only those situated in the same country as
company code. It is therefore recommended to create a company code for each
country in which a plant is situated.
26. Before plants are assigned to a company code, valuation control/level must
be defined for an organisation.
27. Valuation level is a level at which material stocks are valuated in an
organisation which is either at the individual plant level or at the company
code level. If the control is set at the plant level, stock valuation, policy and
decision making can be carried out at each plant level otherwise it applies at
the company code level for all the plants that are assigned to it.
28. Location under logistics general is strictly an informative assignment and its
nothing to do with the enterprise functionality; where by locations inside a plant
such as production resources/tools, work centres, functional locations, pieces
of equipment etc are assigned. A location has an address as well.
