“Farida Sharan 1s the Founder and Director
of the School of Natural Medicine in
Cambridge, England, Colorado, U.S.A., South
Africa, Malaysia, and the British School of
Iridology.
The author of “IRIDOLOGY, a comprehensive
guide to diagnosing through the iris and to
related forms of treatment,” a hardback text-
book, fully illustrated, published by Thorsons
in England, Herbs of Grace, and correspon-
dence courses in Iridology, Herbal Medicine
and Naturopathy offered by the School of
Natural Medicine worldwide.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia,
Canada in 1942, she had an affinity for natural
living that eventually led her to self healing processes that cured colitis, and a
breast lump in 1971. She followed the instructions in Jethro Kloss’s “Back of Eden”
while camping at a natural hot spring in the California Sierra mountains. This
experience convinced her that she had found her life work and began her career of
studying, researching, practising and teaching natural medicine.
As well as collaborating with Ghatfan on creative projects, she is working on fur-
ther books, “Mind/Body/Spirit in the Iris of the Eye", “Women's Medicine”, rewrit-
ing and extending “Herbs of Grace”, and developing teaching programmes for the
schools in England and America.
One of the new projects for 1990 are Transformational Therapy Intensives which
utilize the full spectrum of purification, regeneration and transformation for evolu-
tion and health rather than the treatment of disease. Colour healing, water thera-
py. counselling, clairvoyant sessions, numerology, I Ching, movement, sound and
several hours of bodywork a day will give individuals or couples the creative space
for advanced transformation in loving, supportive environments. These intensives
will also be used for training students.

hatfan is a student that every teacher
dreams about. Because his love for Iridology
and natural medicine is deep, profound, sin-
cere and enthusiastic his study is creative. He
produced the seeds of two unique works, the
Iridology Coloring Book and the Dictionary of
Iridology, as he progressed through the corre-
spondence course.
Ghatfan {s_a living example of boundless giv-
ing. What he has given to Iridology in three
years is more than most give all their lives.
Now Ghatfan's love and enthusiasm can be
shared by students everywhere who will bene-
fit from his creative exercises.
Ghatfan was born in Lebanon on the 22nd
November 1946, and graduated as a architect in
197 from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, Egypt. He was very shy and introverted
as a young person, and used positive thinking, artistic pursuits and sports to rise
above a stressful family life. During the last seven years he has studied different
styles of natural medicine, successfully healing himself from many chronic diseases
and attaining transformation of body, spirit and personality as well as remarkable
changes in his iris color. For Rayid enthusiasts, Ghatfan is an introverted Shaker
Jewel, left brain dominant, a perfect iris structure for creating these beautiful iris
colourings. Ghatfan believes in pure nature cure and a return to the simple way of
life as a cure for disease.
A recent letter, December 1989, describes his love and devotion for Iridology.
“You many not believe, Farida, that I want to re-study Iridology (your revised course)
after I finish all the work of the Coloring book and the Dictionary. I want to deserve the
title, Iridologist. Iridology is not an easy science or art, it is a very very deep organic art
and science.”
A good Iridologist is responsible for every iris they check. They should record all
their observations, even insignificant ones very carefully. All these records should
be discussed with colleagues. Every patient has something to add to the science of
Iridology. Every graduate should make a commitment to record, research and share
their observations. A high spiritual level is recommended to suppress the ego and
selfishness.
Ghatfan works as a creative pioneer, and until he came to the School of Natural
Medicine summer school in England in August 1989 he had never met another
Iridologist. Thank you Ghatfan for your love, your enthusiasm, your creativity, your
devotion and your longing to make Iridology greater. Coloring Book Instructions
‘The tridology Coloring Book is designed to train the student of Iridology to
observe, and record iris markings and colorations. It is also useful to stimulate the
artistic sense, to see the beauty in each iris. It provides study exercises that will
enable the student to spend happy hours studying Iridology. We believe study
should be joyful and the Coloring Book combines the happiness of creative coloring
projects with sophisticated learning processes.
The book doesn't teach Iridology. It helps the student to learn to see the iris in all
its beauty and complexity and mystery. It is designed to augment any study or
practice. We welcome teachers to include it in their training programmes and also
to offer feedback. We will continue updating and improving the book each year and
welcome suggestions.
The Coloring Book is to be used to illustrate the main iris signs, constitutions
and body systems as they appear in the iris.
Before you consider coloring in the pages, you may wish to take the book to a
copy machine and run off several copies of each page so that you can experiment,
and try different ideas.
The iris drawing contain the most important iris fibres and markings, but not all.
When you look at an iris you will see many more fibres. You can add more in your
coloring if you wish.
Coloring instructions at the bottom of each page do not mention every possibility,
only some of the main ideas.
Important: The Iridology Coloring Book is not to be used as a diagnostic refer-
ence.
Remember :— There is no perfectly circular iris in the world. There is no perfectly
circular pupil in the work. There is no pupil perfectly in the centre of the iris. The
fris as we see it with 4x magnification is completely uniquely individual and like
nature, imperfectly regular. We have to make charts that approximate and create
systems but remember every iris is unique. Even iris chart body areas, organs and
glands are not in exactly the same place in each iris. This is the intuitive master-
ship of the science and art that comes when you have absorbed Iridology into your
being and when you have read over 1000 eyes.
