NO TCC AND TRANS TEMP OVERHEAT
COMPLAINT: During a road test after a rebuild, it is noticed that there was no converter clutch apply. A scan tool
revealed that the computer was commanding the converter clutch to apply. It was also noticed
that transmission fluid temperature was up to 270 F. The vehicle was put on a hoist where cooler
flow was carefully checked in Drive and there was none.

CAUSE: A reconditioned pump was used that had its inner sleeve out of position (Figure 1) compromising
the converter clutch and cooler circuits (Figure 2).

CORRECTION: Replace the pump assembly.
