Activity - First Mass

The document discusses where the first Catholic mass in the Philippines took place. While a legislative decree declared it was in Limasawa island, evidence is presented arguing that the first mass actually occurred in Masao, as recorded in primary sources like Antonio Pigafetta's diary from Ferdinand Magellan's voyage. The first mass is said to have taken place on March 31, 1521, Easter Sunday, led by father Pedro de Valderrama along the shores of the place referred to as "mazaua" in Pigafetta's journals.
