Sample Preparation
Sample Preparation is a necessary and cru-
cial part of all the chemical analysis. A
proper grinding gives a high quality result.
Errors caused by analytical instruments are
very small compared to the ones associated
with sample preparation. Badly prepared
samples will automatically result in large an-
alytical errors.
The laboratory sample mill is often an over-
looked link in the chain of analysis but we re-
gard it as an integral part of the analytical
system. This is why we have developed our
own grinding equipment to assure the best
analytical results within both traditional wet
chemistry and NIR/NIT analysis.

Fibre Analysis
The Fibertec™ range include systems for crude
and detergent fibres as well as a system for di-
etary fibre, all systems following ISO and
AOAC standards. Our Fibertec Systems, from
manual to semi-automated, simplify the deter-
minations through integral extraction and filtra-
tion. No sample transfer during analysis reduces
analytical errors and saves time. The FiberCap
System is a high capacity solution for crude and
detergent fibre determination at low cost.

Digestion
Digestion systems are used when wet ashing or digestion is
required as a sample preparation technique. Most common is
the sulphuric acid digestion when determining nitrogen /
protein according to the Kjeldahl method. For this digestion
an Exhaust for efficient fume removal always should be used,
preferably in combination with a Scrubber. For other diges-
tion methods e.g. COD where the volume should be kept con-
stant a Reflux Head connected to a cold water supply should
be used instead of the Exhaust Manifold.
The Tecator™ Digestion Systems Auto versions will fully
control a connected Lift and Scrubber according the selected
application program.

Kjeltec™ Systems
Most Kjeltec™ instruments are used in the Kjeldahl method
which remains the most versatile way to determine nitrogen /
protein. The Kjeltec Range provides a solution for every need,
from manual distillation units to fully automatic analysers
including auto sampler. All instruments perform officially
approved methods (AOAC/EPA/ AACC etc) and the automatic
instruments use colorimetric titration. Equipped with several
built-in safety features, including the patented SAfE mode, and
a fast and reliable tube-emptying system, these instruments
ensure reliable results, time after time.
The manual Kjeltec units also can be used for other purposes
e.g. sample preparation prior to alcohol or SO2 determination
