main character starting to struggle.

Very good, what is a climax? Climax sir is the point of greatest tension or
intensity in the short story. It can also be the point
where events take a major turn as the story races
towards its conclusion.

story.

After climax, what comes next? Falling action sir!


Correct! What is a falling action? Sir it’s the winding up of the story.

begin to resolve.

Day 2: On conflicts

Next, let’s have conflict. What is a conflict? The conflict is a struggle between two people or
things in a short story. The main character is
usually on one side of the central conflict.
However, the main character may also struggle
against another important character (man vs man),
against the forces of nature (man vs nature),
against society (man vs society), or even against
something inside himself or herself (man vs
himself)

during the discussion.)

Ok! Let’s have the last one. Theme, class what is The theme is the central idea or belief in a short

What is the difference of the theme to the lesson Sir, theme is the central idea of a story. What the

the story and is expressed through the plot and the

What are the elements of a short story? Sir! The elements of a short story are settings,
character, plot, conflict and theme. Under plot sir,
we have exposition, rising action, climax, falling
action and resolution. We also have four parts of
conflict. This are man vs man, man vs nature,
man vs society and man vs himself.

by the turtle three times.

What is the falling action? The falling action of the story is when monkey
tossed turtle in the river.

And the last one the conclusion? The monkey was confused and regretted all of his
action.
