OVERVOLTAGE RELAY FOR

SUPERVISION OF CTs’ CIRCUITS

UB3/59-S
CAT. B7-98
12-01-99

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
Three-phase three-elements sensitive overvoltage relay with adjustable definite time
trip delay complete with time start output relay.
The UB3/59-S is used for supervision of the Current Transformers Secondary circuits
in Busbar differential protection.

SETTINGS
Settings are made on front face by means of two 4-poles DIP-SWITCH that allow to
obtain a wide and accurate setting range for the trip level as well as for the trip time
delay.

SIGNALIZATIONS
! 1 Green led for signalization of auxiliary power supply presence and relay
regular operation.
! 1 Red led for trip signalization.
! 1 Yellow led for start time monitoring.

COMMANDS
! Test spring lever switch: when pressed it simulates a voltage beyond the trip
level and allows the complete functional check of the relay. In one position the
test function does not operate the output relays; in the other it also operates the
output relays.
! Reset after trip of the time delayed output relays R1, R2, R3 can be:
- manual by reset push button on front face
- manual by remote push button connected to the relevant terminals provided ORDERING DATA
on the relay
- automatic with differential by connecting a bridge on remote reset terminals.
• Relay Type
OUTPUT RELAYS
! 3 Trip signal relays with one Change-over contacts rating 5A. • Rated Input Voltage
! 1 Time start signal relay with one Change-over contact rating 5A. • Auxiliary Power Supply
The output relays are normally deenergized (energized on trip).
• Setting Ranges
