Form groups of five (5) and discuss the WHO Health System Framework. Share your
group’s summary to the rest of the class for 5 minutes.

The WHO Health System Framework consist of 6 building blocks that is necessary
for strengthening and improving the health system. These building blocks are: First, service
delivery which refers to the timely delivery of quality. Second, is health workforce in where
individuals and groups working towards the achievement of health outcomes. Third, is
information which analyzes disseminates, and uses reliable and relevant information. Fourth
is Health products, vaccines and technologies. Fifth, is financing which take cares of the
funding for health care services so that people won’t be afraid in using health services.
Lastly, is leadership and governance it ensures effective stewardship of the entire health
system. Intermediate goals are access, coverage, quality and safety. These 6 building blocks
will result to improve health outcomes such as improved efficiency, social and financial risk
protection, improved level and equity of health, responsiveness.
