 Levels of Technology Integration:
 ☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
    during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.
 ☒ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
   driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
   technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
 ☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
   promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
   newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.
 Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Students will watch the videos linked above. The video addresses
 everything the students need to know about Lewis and Clark and their expedition. Throughout the video,
 students will answer to following questions on a piece of paper. 1. Who is Meriwether Lewis? 2. Who is
 William Clark? 3. What did they do? After the video is completed, students will be instructed to go to
 Discovery Education, Board Builder. Students will make their own board describing who Lewis and Clark are
 and what they did. (a sample layout has been provided.) This lesson corresponds to the UDL principles by
 including multiple means of engagement. Students will get to show what they learned through their own
 creation.
 Lesson idea implementation: In this lesson, the teacher is to observe and monitor student’s comprehension
 of the information while the students create their own boards. Instruction will take 5 minutes as I will explain
 what and how the students will be doing. The videos will take about 30 minutes to get through. The board
 creation will take 30 minutes to complete.
    After students are done with their board, they will be assessed based on the information they used to
 describe Lewis and Clark and their expedition. If their board shows signs of strong comprehension to the
 topic, students will then share their boards aloud in front of the class. While students are presenting, the

 other students must take note on one thing they liked about the presenter’s presentation. Students work will
 then be published on the Discovery Education, Board Builder site. This allows for people in the community to
 review what the students have learned. After student’s work is published, I will provide online feedback
 through the usage of technology.
 Reflective Practice: The activities in my lesson could impact student learning by giving them the opportunity
 to create using a new technique. Decision making is left to the student which will aims to increase his or her
 problem-solving skills. This lesson about Lewis and Clark is very important and can be further extended by
 having the students create their own expedition maps. The students can focus more on the expedition rather
 on Lewis and Clark themselves.
