Care and Maintenance Guide: Panel Openings

Panel openings should be fully zippered shut or fastened at the top to prevent damage when the boat is moving or unattended. All panels should be securely closed when leaving the boat. The enclosure should be washed with a mild boat wash and a dedicated wash mitt to avoid scratches. It is recommended to polish the acrylic glass monthly with Costa Clear cleaner and polish or apply Collinite insulator wax to provide a protective coat. Novus #2 fine scratch remover can be used for minor scratches and Novus #3 for heavier scratches.

Care and Maintenance Guide

Panel Openings
Panels that open should be fastened to the top or zippered completely shut. Leaving the
panel partially open can cause damage to the panel. When leaving the boat, it is
recommended that all panels be fully zippered in place.

Read the below information thoroughly for recommended cleaning procedures that will insure
years of clarity and enjoyment from your new Costa Clear® Elite Series Enclosure. Contact
your sales person for clarification pertaining to any information you may question.

WASH
The use of a dedicated wash mitt is highly recommended. This prevents unwanted dirt and
debris from being wiped on to the glass. Wash brushes are not recommended as they may
cause scratches. A mild solution of boat wash is acceptable. If you desire to dry enclosure the
use of chamois cloths or water blades work well.

POLISH
We recommend a monthly polish of the acrylic (glass) with Costa Clear® Cleaner and Polish.
This will both clean the glass and apply a protective coat. Simply spray on and wipe off with
clean towel. For a longer lasting finish, wax the clear acrylic with Collinite® brand Insulator
wax (#845). Apply the wax to freshly cleaned panels one panel at a time -allow it to dry to a
haze and buff off. This should be done when panels are in the shade. The insulator wax is a
pure wax with no cleaners - so again, make sure panels are clean before applying. Products
like Rain-ex are not recommended.

MINOR SCRATCHES
For minor scratches, we recommend the use of Novus® #2 Fine Scratch Remover. Simply apply
in circular motion and buff off. For heavier scratches, there is Novus® #3 Heavy Scratch
Remover. Apply with back and forth strokes at right angle to visible scratches. Follow up with
application of Novus® #2 in circular motion.
