GROUT S15
General Information
MINRO-SIL® GROUT S15 is a silica-based, hydraulic setting material designed for application to the inside face of coreless
induction furnace coils in iron and non-ferrous melting applications. MINRO-SIL GROUT S15 should be applied in a uniform
layer of approximately ¼ inch thickness and may be worked between the turns of open coils for electrical insulation. Add
water to obtain good troweling consistency. Work with small batches of 25 pounds each. This product offers the following
benefits and features:
> Moderate set time
> Good surface finish and workability
> Can be used for straight or tapered grout jobs

It is recommended that minor repairs be allowed to air dry 4 to 8 hours before installation of the working lining. Major repairs,
or completely new coil coating, should be dried in accordance with Allied’s procedure CL-37.

Packaged in 25 kg (55 lb.) multi-wall paper bags. Palletized 64 bags (1600 kgs or 3520 lbs.) per 42" x 42" pallet, protected with
stretch wrap. Storage 24 months is not recommended. Store in a dry location to avoid moisture pickup.

Water Required: 15-16.5% by weight
Working Time: Up to 60 minutes
Initial Set: 1.5-2.5 hours
Final Set: 1.5-4 hours

Warning: Contains silica and calcium aluminate cement. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified crystalline silica inhaled in
the form of quartz or cristobalite carcinogenic to humans. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information and disposal instructions. Wear
NIOSH approved respirator during installation, removal, and disposal of product to prevent inhalation of dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Cement
powder of freshly mixed castables may cause eye and skin irritation. Steam spalling, which can lead to personal injury, may result from improper drying and
firing procedures for products that are installed wet. In case of eye contact, flush immediately and repeatedly with water and consult a physician. For safest
use and optimum performance, proper practices must be followed.
