Schematic of Neutral Switch: NO NC

This schematic shows a neutral switch circuit for a vehicle. The neutral switch connects between the 30 and 87 terminals when the transmission is in neutral. It opens the circuit between 30 and 87 when the transmission is not in neutral. A brake pressure switch connects between 30 and 85 when the brakes are applied, and opens the circuit when the brakes are not applied. Together these ensure the starter engages only when the transmission is in neutral and the brakes are applied.
