Unit 2: Working in the Creative Media Industries

Learning Aim C

Produce a profile for employment.

You will need to complete the following:

1. Research a media job online that you would like to apply for (print it out)

2. Prepare a CV tailored to that job

3. Write a cover letter explaining why you would like the job and how you are suitable for the
role.

4. Write a personal statement (you could use your one for UCAs and tailor it), this should
identify your skills, experience, personal characteristics and strengths.

5. Collate examples of your own work; either print portfolio or a show reel depending on the
job you are applying for (this can be your Weebly so leave this part for now)

6. Collect some references (we can do that)

7. Write a career plan (what would you need to do next in order to put you in the best place to
be successful in being offered employment in the media area you would like to work in. You
will need to identify the skills or experience gaps you have and say how you would address
these to improve your chances e.g. training, work experience etc.)
