and papers, there is an introduction, body, and conclusion. Each paragraph logically leads to the next
one.

1. The introduction catches the readers’ attention, provides background information, and lets the
reader know what to expect. It also has the thesis statement.
2. The body paragraphs support the thesis statement. Each body paragraph has one main point to
support the thesis, which is named in a topic sentence. Each point is then supported in the
paragraph with logical reasoning and evidence. Each sentence connects to the one before and
after it. The readers do not have to work to find the connection between ideas.
3. The conclusion summarizes the paper’s thesis and main points and shows the reader the
significance of the paper’s findings.

Digital learning is the use of electronic devices and the technology in either learning or teaching. In
recent years, many students participate in education programs through digital learning on part time
basis, this is because many students attending universities and colleges have work and family
commitments. Many universities therefore, have introduced part time study through the use of
technology in order to respond to these student’s demands. Digital learning is also referred to as e-
learning, online learning, virtual learning or distance learning. There are many disadvantages of online
learning compared to the traditional learning methods.

One of the main disadvantages of e-learning is that it requires internet and computer skills and this
makes it expensive. Many students mainly lack these skills mostly because they don’t have any access to
a computer in their remote areas where there is no electricity and poor internet.

Also, there is no physical interaction between students and their teachers and among students
themselves. This type of learning requires the students to be responsible. This makes it hard for the slow
learners who always need assistance because they might have missed important points. Time being
limited, makes it difficult to hold group discussions and debates because very few people can
participate.

E-learning can be tiresome and boring. Sitting in front of a computer for a couple of hours without
interaction can even make one doze off. Spending a lot of time on computers is also attached with
health problems like eye sight complications.

Another thing is that e-learning becomes a problem to those people with a short concentration span.
One might not be able to concentrate due to distraction in their nearby environment.

E-learning as many disadvantages as well as advantages. It is important to note that its mainly preferred
when there is time constraint, and blending it with the traditional methods ensures better and quality
education to students.
