For Professor Michaels

I want nothing more than to convey this to you


Though the grief is now long past
Please let your eyelids rest and feel my shaken soul
My eyes rest on you who taught me to not sit and wait for miracles
The road ahead is rough and treacherous
With the future remaining and unsolvable mystery
But we’re not giving up

Your love is a shield and will protect me


Though my heart is wounded
Just by looking into your eyes
I don’t need words
Time stops

Simply and easily I love you


We’ve waited to reach the end of the road
Leaving everything behind us though with pain
Sadness took over for a time
And the roads seemed to divide into endless forks
But we followed a comforting light
Holding hands pulling each other along
It’s a new life

Don’t wait for miracles


And don’t let them wait for you
The road ahead is treacherous
The obstacles are plentiful
But I’ll stay me and you do the same
We can’t give up
Your love is a shield and will protect me
Though my heart is wounded
Just by looking into your eyes
