Question # 1: For each of the following transfer function, do the following: (1) Find the values of
damping ratio ‘ζ’ and natural frequency ‘ω n’; (2) characterize the nature of the response.

Question # 2: Consider the control system shown in Figure 2.1 in which a PID controller is used
to control the system. The PID controller has the transfer function

Design the PID controller by using the Ziegler-Nichols Tuning Rule based on critical gain K cr
and critical period Pcr as given in Table 2.1.
