Apple Inc
Introduction
Apple Inc is an American multinational Company, is one of the most successful in the world
and It’s considered one of the Big Four technology companies, along with Amazon, Google,
and Facebook.
It was established by Steven Jobs and Stephen Wozniak on April 1, 1976, in Cupertino,
California.
Apple designs, manufactures and markets personal computers, portable media players, mobile
phones, computer software and computer hardware.
History
Wozniak was a genius of engineering, he designed his inventions and Jobs, a businessman,
turned them into products.
In 1976, Wozniak completed the computer and took it to a Homebrew Computer Club meeting
to show it off. When Jobs saw Wozniak's computer, which would later become known as the
Apple I, he was immediately interested in its commercial potential.
On April 1, 1976, Apple Computer Company was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and
Ronald Wayne. The company was registered as a California business partnership. Wayne, who
worked at Atari, agreed to become a co-founder of the company in return for a 10% stake.
However, on April 12, less than two weeks after the company's formation, Wayne left Apple,
selling his 10% share back to the two Steves for only $800 and leaving them as the active
primary co-founders.
The Apple II went on sale on June 10, 1977 with a retail price of $1,298, It included graphics
and, eventually, color.
While the Apple II was already established as a successful business-ready platform, Apple
management wasn’t content. The Apple III was designed in an attempt to compete with IBM
(International Business Machines Corporation). And was released in November 1980.
In 1984, Apple introduced its most successful product yet, the Macintosh, a personal computer
that came with a screen and mouse. The machine featured a number of software programs,
including the word processor MacWrite and the graphics editor MacPaint. It was considered as
a "revolution in personal computing."
In 1985, Jobs and Wozniak were forced to leave the company because of disagreements with
Apple's CEO, John Scully.
In 1997, Jobs returned to Apple and a year later the company introduced a new personal
computer, the IMac. It was a strong seller, and Apple quickly went to work developing a suite
of digital tools for its users like Itunes, Imovie, Iphoto.
In 2001, Apple released the first version of the iPod, a portable music player that allowed users
to store 1000 songs in their pocket. By 2015, Apple had sold 390 million units.
In 2007 Jobs announced that Apple Computer, Inc. would be known as "Apple Inc.", because
the company had shifted its emphasis from computers to consumer electronics.
That year, Apple released the IPhone and the Apple Tv.
In July 2008, Apple presented the App Store to sell third-party applications for the iPhone and
iPod Touch.
After Jobs' death in 2011, Tim Cook became CEO, and the company has expanded, releasing a
new generation of iPhones, iPads, iMacs, and MacBooks, along with new products such as the
Apple Watch and the HomePod.
In 2018, Apple became the first U.S. company to be worth $1 trillion.
Name and logo
According to Steve Jobs, the company's name was inspired by his visit to an apple farm. He
thought the name "Apple" was "fun, spirited and not intimidating"
Apple's first logo, depicts Sir Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree. It was almost
immediately replaced by a rainbow Apple with a bite. Jobs insisted that the logo must be
colored to humanize the company. The logo was designed with a bite so that it would not be
confused with a cherry. The colored stripes were conceived to make the logo more accessible,
and to represent the fact the Apple II could generate graphics in color.
In 1999 Apple started to use monochromatic
logos but with the same shape. An Aqua-themed version of the monochrome logo was used
from 1998 to 2003, and a glass-themed version was used from 2007 to 2013.
 The current logo is black.
