4. INSTRUCTIONS
4.1. Configuring the modems (MDM 192)

1 Configure the modems by positioning the DIP Switches.


Set the data rate either at 19200 b/s or at 9600 b/s.

4.2. Connecting the modems to the PLCs


1 Connect the modems to the CP443-5 couplers with the CAB590 cable.

4. CONFIGURING THE PLCS


1 Open the programming software (SIMATIC Manager) and enter the transmission parameters of the
profibus network on each PLC.
