- NO OBSERVATION OF CHANGE IN CURRENT OF THE CORIOLIS FEEDERS.
- OBSERVED THAT MUTICELL / MULTICORE DRIVES TRIPES BY “DC BUS OVER
VOLTAGE”.
-NO OBSERVATION OF SURGE OR CHANGE IN INPUT SUPPLY VOLTAGE.
PROBABLE REASONS-
- CORIOLIS FEED LOAD VARIATIONS.
- INCOMING SUPPLY VOLATGE VARIATIONS.
- MOTOR REGENERATION MODE.
COUNTERMEASURES & SOLUTIONS-
1.TO PREVENT THE POSSIBILTY OF TRIPPING THE DRIVES BY VARIATION IN INPUT
SUPPLY VOLTAGE –THE SOURCES OF SUPPLY TAKEN FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES IN
PLACE OF COMMON SOURCE FOR ALL CORIOLIS FEEDERS.
2. TO PREVENT THE SURGES AT INPUT SIDE –TAKEN CHOKE IN LINE.
3.TO PREVENT THE POSSIBILITY OF TRIPPING BY NON CUTOMISATION OF DRIVES & ITS
PARAMETERS ACCORDING TO THE APPLICATION- RETUNED THE PARAMETERS AT
DIFFERENT STAGES IN CONSULTATION WITH OEM (M/S SCHENCK) & ALSO GOT THE
PARAMETERS TUNED BY SIEMENS SERVICE ENGINEER.
4. FINALLY CONCLUDED THAT THE MATTER IS RELATED TO “MOTOR REGENERATION
MODE”, DECIDED TO TAKE “DYNAMIC BRAKING RESISTANCES” IN LINE.
CASE 2- CORIOLIS TRIPPINGS BY AGITATOR OVERLOAD –
Coriolis frequent tripping of Agitator overload or any other fault in Agitator.
BASCIS OF PROBLEM & CONCEPT BEHIND MODIFICATION –
-CORIOLIS FEEDER DIRECTLY TRIPPING FROM PANEL BY HARDWIRED INTERLOCK OF
AGITATOR TRIPPING.
-MANY TIMES AGITATOR TRIPS BY MINOR REASONS & DIRECTLY TRIPPING THE
CORIOLIS FEEDER IS NOT JUSTIFIED.
-AGITATOR STOPPAGE FOR VERY SHORT DURATION CAN LEAD TO VARIATION IN FLOW
CHARACTERSTICS OF FINE COAL & SAME CAN BE TAKEN CARE BY CORIOLIS FEEDER BUT
TRIPPING OF CORIOLIS FEEDER BY AGITATOR DIRECTLY LEAD TO THE KILN FIRING
STOPPAGE & HENCE THE KILN FEED.
HARDWIRED INTERLOCKING OF CORIOLIS BY AGITATOR TRIPPING-
RECTIFICATIONS-
-REMOVED THE HARDWIRED TRIPPING OF CORIOLIS BY AGITATOR TRIPPING.
-PROVIDED POPUP ON DCS FOR AGITATOR TRIPPING TO GET ATTENTION OF
OPERATOR.

Follow step 1 to 4 like above:-
1. Menu Arrow keys up or down Select “ ENTER PARAMETER “ Return key
2. Enter Password “ 7353 “ Return key
3. Select with arrow keys Parameter block 2 Return key
4. With arrow keys up or down select parameter P02.04
5. Press “ EDIT “ change parameter P02.04 with arrow keys up or down to “ YES “ Return
key 2 x Escape key
6. Menu Arrow keys up or down Select “ START KEYBOARD MODE “ Return key
7. Menu Arrow keys up or down Select “ VOLUMETRIC MODE “ Return key
8. Menu Arrow keys up or down Select “ STOP PRE FEEDER “ Return key
9. Menu Arrow keys up or down Select “ START WHEEL “ Return key
10. Menu Arrow keys up or down Select “ CALIBR. PROGRAM “ Return key
11. Enter Password “ 7353 “ Return key
12. Select with arrow keys TW: TARE Return key
13. Calibration runs about 30 sec., if program has finished Return key
14. Start feeder ( ON ), wait a view minute
15. Open the by pass valve as long as it displays 0.5% to 0.7% actual feed rate
16. Stop feeder ( OFF )
17. Menu Arrow keys up or down Select “ CALIBR. PROGRAM “ Return key
18. Enter Password “ 7353 “ Return key
19. Select with arrow keys TW: TARE Return key
20. Calibration runs about 30 sec., if program has finished Return key
21. Menu Arrow keys up or down Select “ CALIBR. PROGRAM “ Return key
22. Select with arrow keys “ ZERO SET Return key
23. Deviation should not exceed +/- 1%, if OK Return key
24. Start feeder ( ON )
25. Check a stable flow rate (shows around 0.00%) for around one minute
26. Stop feeder ( OFF )
27. Remove wheel from the by pass valve
