The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic is the defining global health crisis of our time
and the greatest challenge we have faced since World War Two. But the pandemic is much
more than a health crisis, it's also an unprecedent socio-economic crisis. Stressing every one
of the countries it touches, it has the potential to create devastating social, economic and
political effects that will leave deep and longstanding scars. Every day, people are losing
jobs and income, with no way of knowing when normality will return.
With this COVID-19 pandemic I have observed different Filipino values and traits.
Amidst this crisis they still manage to smile and continue living in this world. No one could ever
beat them against all odds. I could still see the beautiful smile on their faces showing that
COVID-19 is not a hindrance for any happiness that they could be. The smiles connote that
we can face all these challenges in our time. This shows that we have a positive outlook
against any problem coming along our way.
Though some losses their job, they still manage to continue and live fearfully. I have
seen the hardworking individuals that shows how they love and care for their family. They
have to work on their own and earn money for a living through their own efforts. Sometimes
they felt guilt for they can no longer give the best for their family but they are doing their
very best to do so.
Through this pandemic I have also observed how they can adopt to this new normal
situation. Yes, they are really flexible. Though we are facing this global crisis we still
manage to stand in our own feet.
I have also observed how they give importance to their lost relatives. They are
praying for them, sometimes they are inviting a prayer leader to do so. This shows that they
have still care for their lost love ones through prayers for their intercession.
This Pandemic made me realize how importance a family is. They are the ones who
are there in times of trouble and crisis.
