Sustainable Design Thoery and Practice: Assignment No.# 1-ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT

My personal earth overshoot day according to my ecological footprint is April 5th. This means that if everyone lived like me, we would need more than 3.5 times the resources of Earth each year. An ecological footprint measures the impact of human activities in terms of the area of biologically productive land and water required to produce goods and services. Some strategies to reduce one's footprint include eating less food, being more efficient with energy and recycling at home, driving less and using public transportation, reducing packaging waste, and advocating for environmental policies.

Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity has exhausted nature's
budget for the year, and exceeds what Earth's ecosystems can renew in a year.

ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT:
A person’s Footprint also includes social impacts or “services,” such as government aid, roads
and structure, public facilities, and the national state military. The entire citizens are allocated
their part of these social impacts. This is why, if we want to reach sustainability in any level, we
need to emphasis on both our own living style as well as prompting our governments rules and
regulations.

HOW CAN I SCORE WITHIN THE FOOTPRINT OF THIS PLANET?

Due to the increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the Earth’s climate is
changing rapidly. Agricultural practices in crop production, food processing, and product sales all
generate greenhouse gases, thereby exacerbating global climate change. The general public and

from all agricultural activities and sectors.
