Welcome to WritePoint, the automated review system that recognizes errors most
commonly made by university students in academic essays. The system embeds
comments into your paper and suggests possible changes in grammar and style. Please
evaluate each comment carefully to ensure that the suggested change is appropriate for
your paper, but remember that your instructor's preferences for style and format prevail.
You will also need to review your own citations and references since WritePoint
capability in this area is limited. NOTE: WritePoint comments are computer-generated
writing and grammar suggestions inviting the consideration and analysis of the writer;
they are not infallible statements of right/wrong, and they should not be used as grading
elements. Also, at present, WritePoint cannot detect quotations or block-quotes, so
comments in those areas should be ignored. Please see the other helpful writing
resources in the Tutorials and Guides section of the Center for Writing Excellence. Thank

Accenture has a great [Clearer writing suggestion--"great" is an overworked
word, too frequently seen, and too vague. It has too many meanings: huge, superior,
numerous, etc. Besides "much," a "great deal" can mean an excellent transaction. Use a
more specific adjective] opportunity to improve their presents in Kava by helping the country
and the company makes Kava a place people will want to come to play, work and invest,
despite the potential for natural disasters that seem to happen here more often than usual.
Accenture’s business is to collaborate with clients globally to help them become high-
performance businesses and governments (2010). With so many economic opportunities in this
island nation, it makes sense for Accenture to become involved. With Accenture’s reputation for
expert consulting advice in areas of finance, supply chain, systems integration and technology
and outsourcing, this will be a test of the companies’ resources to make Kava a place where
business and individuals will want to invest and work.
Accenture organizational processes will make a big difference on Kava. Accenture will
provide guidance to the companies’ [Check spelling--singular possessive is spelled
"company's"] on the island, on how to at any stage of a company’s operation to improve
business performance, analyze performance requirements, improve production, minimize costs,
reduce social costs and environmental emissions to enhance the bottom line(2007 [Leave a
space before the opening parenthesis] ). The organizational change process can be

analyzed by breaking down the stages of the product or service life cycle of any of the
resources on Kava. Accenture will help the companies involved in each of Kava’s
[Apostrophe: remove if the word is not possessive] industries define and analyze the initial
requirements of the product or service. This scopes and bounds the nature of companies’
activities and establishes the companies’ operational framework (2007).No matter if the product
is petroleum, coco, coffee or any of the other economic resources on Kava. Accenture can give
guidance to each of these industries to help better each industries bottom line. The
development stage of the product life cycle is where ["is where" or "are where" are awkward
phrases; use simply "here"--or reword the sentence to something like "In cycle", or "With
cycle,"] the organization of resources in preparation for the implementation of the companies’
business objectives takes place. The implementation phase of organizations processes is the
integration of the companies’ core business activities (2007). Sustaining companies operations
becomes more critical when the market matures and the product moves into the declining phase
of the product life cycle (2007).
Human resources on Kava are at a premium even with the quality labor force the island
provides. Accenture’s human resources management will help companies’ on Kava reduce
human resource [A "human resource" is a single person; written in plural; "human
resources" is the personnel office ] costs, but will [Remove comma before "but" (if the
following is not a complete clause or the last element in a series)] [Remove comma if the
following is not an independent clause] also improve the delivery of a human resource
[human resources] strategy and enhance employee satisfaction with human resource [human
resources] management(2010 [Leave a space before the opening parenthesis] -1).
Accenture’s goal will be to help Kava’s employers use the human resources available to
become more successful by investing in training for frontline employees. Investing in employees
shows him or her that the company is investing in his or her future as well as the companies’.
The company’s investment in training will make employees see his or her secure position with
the company and this [run-on sentence: requires a comma before "and" (or other
conjunction) linking main clauses] commitment on behalf of the company will result in better
employee retention.
Accenture takes very seriously its business ethics and there is a very strict ethics and
compliance program in place that has written standards and procedures, training and
communications, with [Remove comma before "with" (unless beginning or ending a
parenthetical phrase)] visible support of senior leadership, consistent enforcement and
[Check punctuation: insert a comma before this word if this is the last in a list of more
than two -- or if it begins a new clause] discipline (2010-2). The Accenture code of ethics will
be infused [The passive voice is a form of "be" (will be) and a participle (infused). Over-
use of the passive voice can make paragraphs officious and tedious to read. Try to use
the active voice most often; for example, passive voice = The paper was completed on
time. Active voice = the student completed the paper on time--(Note: the Plain Writing Act
of 2010 makes avoidance of the passive voice in official writing a requirement for
government employees)] into all training of companies’ wanting to better the ["Better" can be
used as a verb, but it is also an adjective, an adverb, and a noun--bringing likelihood of
misinterpretation. Try a more concise word such as "improve" or "enhance."] [Doctoral

rule (but good advice for any academic writer)--avoid a split infinitive; consider placing
the adverb (better) before or after the infinitive (to the )--try "better to the " or "to the
better" (or place "better" later in the sentence)] bottom line and into all employees training.
With the ethics training, everyone involved in any venture Accenture has decided to become
involved with, and ethics will be strongly taught to all government employees as well,
[Redundant--remove "as well"; you already wrote "and"] this will show the global
community Kava is a serious player in the world market. Accenture’s commitment to business
ethics is so strong, that [Remove comma before "that" ] anyone that violates the Standards
of Business Conduct will put themselves [Check pronoun agreement--if "themselves" refers
to "anyone" (or a singular subject), it should be singular, too (him or herself)] and the
company he or she works for subject to criminal and civil fines and penalties (2010-2). It may be
possible that a couple of Kavas industry companies’ may not want to participate because of
Accenture’s strong ethics program. Accenture only wants [Effective meaning is usually
clearer if "only" is next to the word(s) it modifies--wants only] what will be good for
Accenture, the government of Kava and any company wanting to become more profitable with
Accenture’s help. Nothing can be accomplished without cooperation from everyone involved.
Accenture, in its commitment to helping Kava and any of the industries prosper; will help in
any way possible to minimize any natural disaster that many strike the island. Accenture will
work with the islands government, local villages, companies’ and the military to find ways to
protect life and property should any natural disaster hit. This paper is only a basic idea of what
Accenture has to offer the people of Kava, to help them become a larger force on the world
market. Many more steps and ideas will come together with the help of Kava’s citizens,
employers, government and military in the days and weeks to come. This is a start of what
Accenture hopes will be a long and beneficial partnership between Kava and Accenture.
