First activity : Look for the proper hand signals in Basketball based from the standard rules of
FIBA. Copy and paste the pictures of proper hand signals with description on a long coupon
bond.
Second activity: Watch the Movie Coach Carter then answer the following questions.
1. What are the problems he encountered on his players? How did he overcome it?
The players have attitude problems, not team work and not respectful. Coach Carter solve
those problems by imposing rules and regulations that was written in a contract where in the
players should have respectful behavior, a dress code and good grades.
2. What is the importance of a goal-oriented coach? How could it affect the players?
Being a goal-oriented coach will help not only the coach himself but also the team to have
improvement on their selves. The players would copy the actions of the coach because being
goal-oriented is also being a champion.
3. Based on the movie, what defines a good coach?
Consistent and has strong authority.
4. What do the main characters learn about themselves, and how do they change?
The main characters learned that they are focused on playing basketball, forgetting about
their studies. They changed because of coach Carter, He locked the gym and made them study
until they reach the said grade written on the contract. In that process the main player realized that
with out education you will lose in the battle of life.
