SECOND MOMENT:
He colonial pearl of Colombia that he visited is Cartagena de Indias, where colonial
architecture coexists with authentic works of street art and music seeps into every corner of
the city.
The main reception point for visitors is the Rafael Núñez International Airport. From Spain
we do not have direct flights but we do have quite cheap connections via Bogotá or
Medellín. In any case, this city is connected by air with the main airports in the country
through multiple companies. It is not difficult to find super cheap flights. The best, as
always, is to search Skyscanner and find the best prices.
The airport is very close to the walled city, less than 5 kilometers away. To save this stretch
you can do it by taxi for an already established price: just over 3 euros to the historic center
(13,900 COP) or 5 euros to Bocagrande (19,700 COP) (prices updated in 2019). There are
also buses that take you to the center and you have the possibility of making a private
transfer. This last option, the most comfortable, I only recommend for large groups since it
is also the most expensive.
This city has changed a lot because before it did not have as many hotels as it now has
them on the seashore. And its bus terminal is now located a bit far from the historic center,
when I came, its beaches were not as safe as now and to achieve organized excursions. I
always opted for taxis and organized excursions.
Where can I go?
It depends on where your hotel is located, you will be inside or outside the walled city. If
you are outside, you can walk practically from anywhere in Cartagena, so you can take the
opportunity to get to know the city in depth. Nearby is the Museum of the Inquisition
located within the walled city, in Plaza Bolívar. The price of general admission is 11,000
Colombian pesos (less than $ 3), with a discount for children and seniors. And we see there
are different stalls scattered throughout the city. One of the most special places to taste one
is in front of the Clock Tower, one of the most representative monuments of Cartagena de
Indias.
We can also go to the southern part of the walled city and you can easily reach it on foot.
You can also get to know it on our Cartagena City Tour, which also records other points
such as the Bocagrande, Laguito and Castillo Grande areas.

CONCLUSIONS
Taking into account the writing activity we have developed the present activity task 4 in
order to understand a place, time, space and make a relationship between the company in
task 2 and the trip we made.
In my case, the trip was Cartagena de Indias and I developed my activity taking into
account how the place has changed.
