Fantek designs have stemmed from partnership with people who are world renowned
personalities from well recognized academic institutions like IIT Madras. Each of our
customized centrifugal fans is tailor made to customer’s specific needs and they are
designed keeping in mind process parameters, efficiency, reliability and lastly the cost.
Our designs have emerged after intensive theoretical calculations, simulation using
various sophisticated software packages, and rigorous testing for performance. Our
range of centrifugal fans covers almost all process requirements in the industry, and is
unparalleled in performance to other well known competitors.

The rapidly growing cement, steel, power, chemical industries and technology that has

develop fans that are powerful and can withstand extreme wear and high

All our fans are guaranteed for their performance and our team of engineers carries out
performance tests on all customized centrifugal fans free of charge. Tests on all our fans
are conducted according to BS 848 (British Standard) in order to maintain the
measurement errors as low as possible.
Being sensitive to all our customer’s delivery schedules, we do our best to ensure that
our customers are served on time without compromising on quality. We support all our
customers for services such as guidance for fan selection, erection supervision,

Pin & Bush Type Flexible Couplings Grid Coupling Silencers placed at the blower inlet
Pin and bush type couplings are economical and reliable; however Grid Couplings are more resilient and reliable.
They are used for heavy duty applications where reliability is very important although they may not be economically
the best option.
Silencers are provided with our fans which are generally open to atmosphere for eliminating noise in order to ensure
that the noise levels in the shop floor are well within the accepted international limits.
Square Dampers for flow control Circular dampers for flow control Inlet Guide Vanes for flow control
Our dampers are custom built depending on pressure and flow conditions. Inlet Guide Vanes are used for
applications in which clean air is circulated and they tend to offer higher fan efficiency compared to circular and
square dampers. Dampers/IGVs can be placed in the ducting or at the inlet box / inlet cone of the fan for flow
control.

Bearings are one of the most critical parts of a fan and can cause lot of mechanical problems if proper selection is
not made. We at Fantek have extensive knowledge in bearing life calculations and selection of bearings both
theoretically and practically.
We offer self aligning bearings (spherical roller bearings) which can tolerate misalignment and are cheap and
reliable compared to other options. Plummer blocks with oil cooling and self aligning bearings are suggested in
situations demanding oil cooling when fan temperature is more than 300 Degrees.
When temperature is high, thrust load and dynamic forces are higher than what self aligning bearings can take, we
recommend a combination of cylindrical roller bearings and deep groove ball bearings in a tubular housing
with/without cooling / oil lubrication for overhanging shafts and Journal Bearings (hydrostatic bearings) with hydraulic
power pack for simply supported shafts.

Pneumatic actuators for dampers Mechanical actuators for dampers
We offer a choice between pneumatic and mechanical actuators for opening/closing of dampers. Pneumatic
actuators are more cost effective if compressed air supply is readily available.
INSTRUMENTATION
We offer different options of instrumentation for fans procured from us. A simple pitot tube and manometer is useful in
situations when flow measurements are not very critical, can be recorded at site, an error of more than 3% is
acceptable and it is cost effective. Aerofoil shaped air flow measuring blades with digital indicators are more
accurate since eight measurements are taken and flow & pressure can be monitored remotely.

Thermocouple with remote sensing capabilities or dial thermometer is provided for measuring bearing temperatures
depending on requirement.

An electronic vibration monitoring kit (shown in picture below) along with sensors monitors the vibration of bearings
and gives a continuous update of bearing vibration. Besides, one can also opt for kits that monitor multiple vibration
sampling points, alarms etc..

Hard facing and Wear Liners
We use special hard facing electrodes and wear liners
in applications with excessive wear like steel plants,
cement plants, boilers etc.
Our wearliners have a hardness of 400 to 600 BHN
And are made of special wear resistant steel,
hardened, quenched and tempered. We also supply
spare wearliners for centrifugal fans.
Hardfacing of impellers are done with special
electrodes that leave a wear resistant layer on the
impeller. The weld metal deposited is of air hardening
type and are typically alloys of chromium and/or
Molybdenum.
