Evidence My Presentation Outline

The document provides instructions for a student to create an outline for an oral presentation on the topic of motorcycles. The outline includes sections on the history of motorcycles, types of motorcycles and specifications, activities that can be done on motorcycles, and concludes with a references list in APA format. The student is asked to brainstorm key points for their presentation, structure it using "signpost language" with numbered cards, and send the completed file to their instructor for review.

Learning activity 4

Evidence: My presentation outline

A. Find a topic of personal interest. Imagine you are going to present that topic
orally to your teacher and classmates at school. For this part of the evidence
you need to carry out exhaustive research in order to be able to present all the
necessary information related to your selected topic. Report the most important
aspects of your research through a brainstorm of the ideas and concepts that
you think will be relevant to the presentation.

Brainstorm

Example of topic: Aviation.

 Aviation refers to the use of commercial and non-commercial aircrafts

for transportation of people or goods.

 The A380, manufactured by the Airbus Industry, is the biggest plane

ever made.

Brainstorm

Topic: Motorbikes_________________

 Constructive type of the motorcycle

 Year of manufacture of the motorcycle

 Uses that are given to the motorcycle

 Terrain where you will use the motorcycle

 History of motorcycles

 Motorcycle prices
B. Now, structure your presentation using the Signpost language learnt during this
learning activity. Present your outline through presentation cards. Use as many
cards as you need.

Remember: Each presentation card should include a

heading, a phrase at the bottom, a number and it should be
organized by numbering and bulleting.

Motorcycles

Structure: I am going to divide this talk into 4 parts.

1.History

2. Types of motorcycles and specifications.

3. Activities to do on a motorcycle.

So, we start with the story,

The beginnings of the motorcycle date back to 1867

when Calixto Rada invented a steam cylinder
engine that was coupled to a kind of bicycle.

In 1876, a German engineer Nikolaus August Otto

invented the first internal combustion engine, the
origin of the engines used today.

Another German engineer, Daimler, manufactured

the first motorcycle in history in 1885: a two-
wheeled vehicle, with a wooden frame, on which an 1
internal combustion engine was mounted, the
movement of which was transmitted to the rear
wheel by a belt. The motor is located vertically
between the two wheels. The saddle, similar to a
saddle, is so high that the rider's feet do not reach
the ground. The Daimler's wheel spokes are made
of wood and the motorcycle is balanced by two
small wheels attached to each side.
SCOOTER.

The scooter is a type of motorcycle with a

bodywork that protects from the elements and
offers much more versatility than a traditional
motorcycle. They are lighter vehicles, designed for
the city and the best thing, we forget to change
gears. The 125 cc can only be driven with the car
license. From 250 cc it is necessary to get the
motorcycle license.
2

MOTOCROSS.

Designed to be handled in the field. They have

studded wheels to have more grip and are
preferably handled standing up to support the
curves. They are exclusively field and must be
carried by cart because they are not approved for
driving on public roads.

ENDURO.

Many enjoy their motorcycle on the field, but

quietly, without entering competition. The Enduro
perfectly fulfills making driving a real pleasure.
Enjoying nature, being in contact with the
environment, while riding a powerful and
manageable motorcycle is a physical exercise that
offers multiple satisfactions.

4
SUPERMOTARD.

It is a derivation of the enduro motorcycles that

every day have more acceptance. They are
designed so that we can have fun both on the
asphalt and in the field. The starting point is the
Enduro motorcycle, adapted to the asphalt thanks
to its wheels, suspensions and brakes

NAKED.

They are called like this for going "naked": taking

the engine into the air and not covered by the
traditional fairing. They range from 125 cc to the
most powerful 1,000 cc. Unlike other bikes that only
look for aesthetics, naked ones do look for speed.

SUPER SPORTS MOTORCYCLES

Super Sports, Superbike or Supersport

motorcycles are those based on competition and
capable of offering maximum performance, with the
best components and the latest technology. They
have very powerful engines, excellent braking
equipment and a sharp, aggressive and
aerodynamic line. Their potential is such that where
they are best enjoyed is within a circuit. 7
C. To complete the evidence, you must now write a complete list of references
using the guidelines given by the American Psychological Association (APA). Do
not forget to organize your references alphabetically.
