1. Code of Conduct
1.1 Purpose
This document provides the overarching principles to meet the expectations of Professionalism
and Civility (as defined below) at IE and enhance our status.
1.2 Scope
This document applies to Our company Employees. It also applies to off-property work and/or
activities, including online activities that engage IE’s interests. Employees are governed by the
company policy. This Code is not intended to alter or supersede any IE policy or collective
1.3 Definitions of Code of Civility
“Civility” can be defined as a range of behaviors including courtesy, dignity, acting in good faith
and respect.
‘’Respect” Treat all IE staff with respect and in a professional and courteous manner at all times,

person or in written communication (including e-mail).

“Privacy” Strive to uphold the right to privacy and not talk about others.
“Nondiscrimination” Respect the differences in people and their ideas and opinions and reject
bigotry.
“Employee” means a person under the employ of IE Network Solutions either: agreement.
a) On a full-time, ongoing basis either under the terms of the company Employees
Collective Agreement, the Support Staff Collective Agreement, or the Terms and
Conditions for Administrative Employees; and/or
b) On a less than full-time, and/or per time basis under the terms of an employment
agreement.
“Professionalism” Professionalism is the way in which a person appropriately conducts and
presents them self in the workplace and offsite of IE. Examples of professionalism include:
a) Civility in one’s conduct and communications;
b) Appearance and presentation appropriate to one’s duties and responsibilities;

c) Ethical conduct and integrity;
d) Respect for IE’s interests and policies;
e) Meeting obligations;
f) Being truthful; and
g) Being cooperative with colleagues and managers.
2. Policy Statement
We as a community believe that Our company can only achieve its vision and goals through an
environment that embraces diversity, equity, equality, inclusion and respect. Furthermore, we as
a community highly value the trust the public has placed in us to responsibly professional
employee and to manage resources, including information, in a conscientious, honest and
prudent manner. At a minimum, all employees are committed to abiding by IE’s Policies and
Procedures and the laws of the jurisdictions in which we operate and exercising professionalism
and good judgment.
3. Unfair Competition
Our company is not involved, in the course of trade, carry out any act which is dishonest,
misleading or deceptive, and harms or is likely to harm the business interest of a competitor.
The following shall be deemed acts of unfair competition according to our company:
a) Any act that causes or is likely to cause confusion with respect to another business person
or its activities, in particular, the goods or services offered by such business person;
b) Any act of disclosure, possession or use of information of another business person, without
the consent of the rightful owner, in a manner contrary to honest commercial practice;
c) Any false or unjustifiable allegation that discredits, or is likely to discredit another business
person or its activities, in particular the goods or services offered by such business person;
d) Comparing goods or services falsely or equivocally in the course of commercial
advertisement;
e) disseminating to consumers or users, false or equivocal information including information
the source of which is not known, in connection with the price or nature or system of
manufacturing or manufacturing place or content or suitableness for use or quality of goods
or services;
f) Obtaining or attempting to obtain confidential business information of another business
person through our current or former employees or obtaining the information to pirate his
customers or to use for purposes that minimize his competitiveness;
g) Other similar acts specified in Ethiopian trade computation and customers protection
proclamation number 813/2013.

4. Anti-Bribery policy
- Our company’s success is based on the quality of our services, never on unethical or illegal
behavior. We do not tolerate acts of bribery or corruption. And we never offer or accept
anything of value in order to get business, keep business or gain an unfair advantage.
Our company obliged the Federal Corruption Crimes Proclamation 881/2015 regarding
corruption and bribery.
5. Demonstrating Professionalism and Civility
5.1 Diversity, Equity, Equality, Inclusion and Respect
Embracing diversity, equity, equality, and inclusion requires the highest level of respect and
understanding when interacting with others. IE has policies and procedures that support the safety,
dignity and human rights of our community members. However, the company will distinguish itself
as a truly inclusive customer through an awareness of the cultural assumptions, norms, and habits
we each bring, and an appreciation that others may have different cultural assumptions, norms, and
habits and we should strive to not treat others with judgement or bias.
A culture of respect is demonstrated in day-to-day interaction which is courteous and Professional.
A respectful environment is not necessarily one without challenging interactions or one without
conflict. As professional of a respectful environment we pride ourselves on our ability to
constructively challenge each other while behaving with Civility, in a considerate and Professional
way.
5.2 Responsibly Educate Students and Conduct Sheridan Business
All employees contribute to providing our customer with a premier, purposeful professional
experience. We maintain and enhance IE’s standards and reputation in this regard by:
Recognizing that we are often the public face of IE and we shall demonstrate appropriate
Professionalism;
Ensuring we do not present or behave unprofessionally due to the effects of alcohol or illicit
drugs;
Engaging in professional interaction and relationships with staffs inside and outside the
office that do not conflict with our roles as trusted representatives of IE and at times
persons of authority;
Preparing thoroughly for all duties and services offered inside and outside of office;
Being responsive to staffs, clients and customers including providing appropriate feedback
and follow-up in a timely manner.
5.3 Conscientious and Wise Use of Resources and Information
We honor this trust by providing outstanding value to our staffs and the broader customers by:

Using IE resources in a manner consistent with all relevant legislation and policies and only to
undertake our individual duties;
Engaging only in business activities where there is no actual, perceived or potential conflict
of interest that could prevent us from properly using IE resources;
Handling, accessing and using private, privileged, proprietary and/or confidential
information with care and disclosing it only in accordance with relevant Sheridan policies
and legislation
5.4 Responsible, Good Faith Communication
As an employee of IE we value respectful and candid dialogue and recognize that all individuals have
a right to an opinion on any and all matters. We further recognize that we, as individuals, are
accountable for the opinions we choose to share and therefore only share our viewpoints responsibly
and communicate with good faith. This includes refraining from:
Publicly claiming or implying a connection between our personal comments, opinions or
actions and about IE business without appropriate permission;
Electronically recording others in the company covertly and/or without their consent or IE’s
consent; and
Inappropriately using our privilege to engage with Staffs as a forum to promote our personal
views or goal without a reasonable relationship to policy.
6. Compliance
Maintaining our company’s place as a trusted employer to be accountable for their actions.
Therefore, employees accept the responsibility to be compliant with this Code and to fully cooperate
with company investigations and understand that failure to abide by the law, IE’s policies and
procedures or other acts of wrongdoing could result in discipline up to and including termination.
For employees, authorizations may include exclusion from company property or other action as the
situation may warrant.
7. Responsible Office
The Responsible Executive for this policy shall be the CEO, People department and Legal officer. The
Centre for Employee Relations Human Resources, will interpret and apply the policy and have
responsibility to draft and/or approve any associated procedures.
