SWORN STATEMENTS
(Testimony of Elder)

I, Bae Salabe NORMA L. ANUGON, Filipino, married and


a resident of Parang Lumba, Siayan, Zamboanga Del Norte,
after having duly sworn to in accordance with law, hereby
depose and state:

1. Question (Q): What is the name of your Domain?


Answer (A): Siayan Lupa Pusaka, in Subanen language, it
literally means the Ancestral Domain of Siayan;

2. Q: Are you the owner of a portion of the Domain?


A: Yes, I acquired from my parents in Siayan;

3. Q: How many years have you stayed in the area?


A: 65 years, since I was born 1955;

4. Q: Were your ancestors also occupants / owners of the


same land?
A: Yes. My father Datu Samparanan Ladiagonong was the
early occupant of this land;

5. Q: What proofs could you provide us to show that your


ancestors were indeed one of the earliest settlers
in/owners of the land and their long-term occupation of the
area?
A: Mount Gilyan Ladiagonong was the place where our
relatives were assembled during Muslim Subanen war in the
1800’s during Spanish times;

6. Q: As one of the owners of the land, could you identify the


landmarks indicating the boundaries of your ancestral
domain?

A: Mount Mahayag, Litokong Creek (boundary of Brgys.


Datagan and Sayaw), Brgy. Nato, boundary of
Sindangan.Brgy. Nato the adjacent of brgy.Inuman. Manok
mountain with lake above is the boundary of Roxas
Municipality. The municipality of Katipunan boundary is the
mountain known as Buko-buko sa kabayo. The boundary in

the municipality of Dumingag is within the portion of Brgy.
Seriac, Siayan. The municipality of Midsalip is the existing
boundary. The boundary with the municipality of Bayog is the
existing boundary in the western side. The boundary with the
Sindangan Ancestral domain is the Tolalo Mountain;

7. Q. Do you know of any existing pacts and agreements


concerning boundaries entered into by your community with
other ICCs/IPs?
A: Yes, the leaders from the municipalities of Jose Dalman,
Katipunan, Dumingag, Bayog, Sindangan, Midsalip, and
Roxas went here n the year 2011 to agree on our respective
boundaries;

8. Q: Please identify parts of the Domain which are usually


used for subsistence purposes and traditional activities?
A: The area in barangays Domagok, Pangi, Gibo are rich in
Uway and for river fishing;

9. Q: What are the rituals, customs, and traditions of your


community?
A: Ganilang, Pasungco, Magdulay, Kano Lupa, Balayag, Kano
Bata, Buklog, Samaya, Buklog Palunto, and Buklog Pangamo;

10. Q: Is there an existing Political Structure/ Institution


in the community? How are the leaders/elders chosen?
A: Yes, thru Tondoon, or appointment by the leader. In my
case being the daughter of Datu, I am Bae;

11. Q: Please identify other existing families/ clans in your


community who also been in long term possession in and
ownership of parts of the Domain?
A: They are the clans bearing the following surnames:

Please identify, if there is any.
A: Yes, as far as I know they are owned and titled in the
names of Anugon, Ladiagonong, Patisyon, Maricol, Villarosa,
Siasico, Apolonia, and Alicaya;

purposes that they may serve;
