Module 2.

Activity 1. Advertisement - making

Direction: Create a promotional advertisement that supports diverse native arts in the
Philippines. Consider the works of local artists in your area. For online learners, you
can utilize www.canva.com in making your output. Then, answer the follow up
questions.

1. What are the main highlights of your promotional advertisement?

The main highlights of my promotional advertisement are the Local Filipino Artists, as
can be seen in the front side of my brochure. I also highlighted the mindset of “Inject
Modernity, Embrace Tradition” because I believe in it whole-heartedly.
2. As the main medium in making the task, how does technology aid and enhance
the promotion of indigenous art?
Technology is one of the most prominent medium in the current era. Technology has
dominated most aspects of life including, but not limited to, socialization, education, data
gathering, communication, and entertainment. With the help of technology, it is possible
to advertise indigenous art as a piece that can be incorporated in our world. Indigenous
arts are seen by many as relics of the past. This perception can be reversed by technology.
If one is able to advertise the indigenous art while showcasing its compatibility with
modern enhancement, they can showcase the unique splendor of the art. Apart from
letting people accept indigenous art as an ongoing craft, technology also has a wide range
of platforms where one can freely promote. This gives a more efficient way of advertising
and promoting.
3. Aside from the promotional advertisement, in what other way can you help the
National Commission for Culture and the Arts in encouraging Filipinos to patronize
local arts?
Another way someone can help to encourage people to patronize local arts is to start
using it in your household and neighborhood. If you can create an indigenous art that
is practical and aesthetically pleasing, it may be possible to encourage your local group
to join you. This will also help everyone to understand that local arts are practical, giving
a better perception to a once neglected form of art.
