There are many job opportunities in hotels and restaurants in major tourism cities like Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang but attracting and retaining talent remains a challenge.

According to United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO),
Vietnam is the only Southeast Asian country among 10 world's fastest
growing travel destinations in 2019.

Additionally, Vietnam witnessed rapid growth steps in the tourism industry
from 2009 to 2019.
+ The annual growth rate in the number of domestic visitors made up 13.2% ,
compared to 16.83%the figure in the number of international tourists over 10-
year period.

With the rapid tourism growth signals huge potential for employment in the
hospitality industry.
2. facts and figures
However, The Administration of Tourism states that there is 40% of staff
shortage in hospitality industry in Vietnam, the entire sector needs about 40
thousand more staff each year, there are only about 15 thousand Hospitality
graduates a year, of whom graduates from universities and colleges account
for only 12 per cent. (Source: https://duytan.edu.vn/academic-

There are many job opportunities in hotels and restaurants including food and
beverages, front office, housekeeping and bar services. Specifically, in three
areas having the highest hotels and restaurants and also attract the huge
number of tourists both international and domestic are miserable to attract
and retain the skilled employees. In more details :
In Ho chi minh city, there are more than 1.067 hotels ranking from 1 to 5 stars:
