Question # 2:
i) Write a note on Pakistan Resolution (Lahore Resolution 1940)
Ans. All India Muslim League presented a resolution for the demand of a separate state for the Muslims
of the sub-continent on the basis of the Two Nation Theory in its 27th annual meeting on 23rd March
1940 at Minto Park Lahore which is known as Lahore Resolution or Pakistan Resolution. This
resolution was presented by the chief minister of Bengal Maulvi A.Q.Fazal-ul-Haq. Chaudry
Khaliq-uz-zaman first agreed to this proposal then the other prominent leaders were also agreed to it
who were belonged to different provinces. This resolution was accepted on 24th March1940.

ii) Describe any five Islamic provisions of the constitution of 1973 A.D.
Ans. The Islamic Provisions of the constitution of 1973 are following
a) Sovereignty over the entire universe belongs to Almighty Allah and the right of supreme authority
also belongs to him.
b) The name of the state is Islamic Republic of Pakistan .
c) According to the constitution the official religion of Pakistan is Islam.
d) Proper organization shall be made for the system of Zakat, Auqaf and mosques in Pakistan.
e) The state shall take steps for the unity with the Muslim countries in the world.

iii) Write the names of any five member countries of SAARC.


Ans. Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka.

iv. Write the Basic Principles of the Foreign Policy of Pakistan.


Ans. The Principles of Pakistan’s Foreign policy are derived from the Pakistan Movement, which
embodied the struggle of the Muslims of subcontinent for an independent and sovereign state
wherein they could live in accordance with their spiritual and cultural heritage, and build a social
order based on Islamic values and traditions. The important fundamental principles of the foreign
policy of Pakistan are:
a. Close Relations with Muslim countries.
b. Regional co-operation
c. Keeping away from Super Power Politics.
d. Support for self determination
e. Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament
f. New International Economic Order
g. Implementations of the UN Charter

v. State any two initial problems faced by Pakistan at the time of its emergence.
Ans. UNFAIR DEMARCATION OF BOUNDARIES
According to the 3rd June Plan, two commission were appointed for the demarcation of boundaries
for the division of the Punjab and Bengal, Radcliff was the chairman of both commissions. Radcliff
showed dishonesty and misused his power handed over muslim majority are like Murshidabad,
Gurdaspur, Batala, Shakergadh to India.
DISTRIBUTION OF ARMED FORCES AND DEFENCE ASSETS.
For the distribution of armed forced it was decided that the muslim regiments would go for Pakistan
while the Hindu and other non-Muslims regiments would go to India with the distribution of force, it
was also settled that one third of military equipment shall be given to Pakistan, but India paid very
little as compared to the due share of Pakistan.

vi. Explain the Geographical importance of Pakistan.


Ans. IMPORTANCE OF LAND LOCATION OF PAKISTAN.
Pakistan enjoys a unique and importance geographical importance and political position in the world
because Pakistan lies in a region which has a prominent defensive, economic an political
importance. The importance of land location of Pakistan can be described as following.
a) Trade Relations with China.
b) Facilities of Land and Water Ways to Afghanistan
c) Relation with Central Asian Countries.
d) Relations with Eastern Countries.
e) Relations with Iran.
f) Relation with Gul Countries.
g) International Sea Port.
h) Centre of Ancient Civilization.
vii. Describe any two Natural Resources of Pakistan.
Ans. SOIL.
The part of unconsolidated material which covers the surface of the earth and becomes a source of
growth of plants is called soil. There are three basic components of soil.
i) Soil components, Salt, Mineral and Organic matter
ii) Air (iii) Water

It means soil is the upper part of the earth where different type of materials are present which help in
the proper growth of plants. Commonly land soil is formed by minerals, silt and clay.

FOREST
In Pakistan only 4.5% land is under forests. Provincial distribution in Pakistan indicates 2.7% land
under forests in Punjab, 4.2% in Sindh, 15.6% in Khyberpukhtun khua and 2.1% in Balochistan.
The climate of Pakistan is too dry for growing forests except in the Northern hilly area and sub-
mountain hills, where forests are due to sufficient rainfall and hill slopes. In Pakistan the forest area
is being reduced due to ruthless cutting of forests, use of land for construction of houses and due to
rivers erosion every year. The forests in Pakistan have been divided in six parts with respect to the
climate and regional division.

viii. Explain the relations of Pakistan with Saudi Arabia.


Ans. Saudi Arabia is the center for Islamic world because the Holy cities of Makkah and Madinah are
situated here. The relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have always been trustworthy and
strong. These relations expanded further became more stable when Shah Sultan Ibn-e-Saud visited
Pakistan in 1954. Afterwards, King Faisal visited Pakistan and he used these words with regard to
the relations between the two countries.
“I am concerned with Pakistan as I belong to Saudi Arabia”.
