Code of Ethics

Ethical Responsibilities to Children


1.1 – I will not raise my voice out of anger or frustration to any child.
1.2 – If I see signs of abuse or neglect, I will report it to the proper authorities in a timely manner.
1.3 – I will provide a safe environment emotionally and physically for children to play and grow.
Ethical Responsibilities to Families
2.1 – I will let parents know everything that I have planned for their child so that they are
informed and can let me know if they are okay with the plans I create.
2.2 – When parents share information about their child, I will apply that information to helping
their child when caring for them.
2.3 – I will accept all families of any origin who come to me for help with taking care of their
children.
Ethical Responsibilities to Colleagues
3.1 – I will help anyone I work with to reach their greatest potential by sharing what I know and
building trusting relationships.
3.2 – I will always be respectful of my colleagues while working with them and when I’m home.
3.3 – I will follow company policies if it does not conflict with what I morally believe to help
children progress emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Ethical Responsibilities to Community and Society
4.1 – If I see company policy conflict with what I know to be correct I will take a stand and do
what I can to correct the policy.
4.2 – I will be completely honest when telling parents and the community what I do when I am
taking care of their children and as I take care of them, I will only use tactics that I know will benefit the
child.
4.3 – I will only apply for positions that I am qualified for and feel that I can put forth my best
effort to benefit the child and family.
