     Course Description:
     An introductory course designed to present an overview of the inter/transdisciplinary
     background of the field of Guidance and Counseling and the various activities in which
     the counselor participates. It will emphasize the various theoretical principles that guide
     the everyday efforts of the counselor, the concept of professionalism as well as the issues
     and trends in the field.
     Course Objectives
     After completing this course, the student should be able to:
        1. explain the concepts of guidance and counseling
        2. demonstrate an understanding of educational, vocational and personal guidance
        3. recognize the need of guidance and counseling in schools
        4. describe various testing and non- testing techniques
        5. explain various services in the school guidance program
        6. understand the process of organization of guidance services in schools
        7. understand testing and non-testing techniques in guidance service
        8. know the qualities required for good counselor
