The Yogi planet is determined by adding the longitudes of the Sun, Moon, and a fixed constant, and finding the nakshatra lord of that point. This Yogi planet indicates longevity and good results when connected to certain houses or lords. An Avayogi planet is assigned in opposition to each Yogi planet, and should be weakened for positive effects. Certain nakshatras lose their characteristics on each tithi, called Dagdha rasis, and planets in these signs are less influential. Vargottama and Pushkara navamsas strengthen planets placed within them.

YOGI PLANET:

The most benefic planet for any native is YOGI planet.


Add up the longitudes of SUN, MOON & a fixed constant 3 s 30 20’(beginning of
Pushyami).

This point is called the YOGI POINT of the native and the nakshtra lord of this
point becomes the YOGI PLANET for the native.

The dispositer of the YOGI PLANET is called DUPLICATE YOGI or


ALTERNATIVE YOGI.

Every YOGI PLANET has a corresponding AVAYOGI PLANET as mentioned


below.

Houses important for longevity considerations are 2,3,7,8, &10.If Yogi planet gets
connected to Lagna Lord, 10th Lord, Poorna Yoga Karaka or Dasa Lord & antar
Dasa lord, it will bring good results.

If Yogi planet is in kendra or trikona or 11th house, associated with benefic


planets, it is good for the native. Yogi planet looses its beneficence if it joins with
Avayogi.If Yogi & Duplicate yogi has any connection (PACE), MAXIMUM YOGA
KARAKA RESULS ARE GIVEN. If Yogi planet in transit is afflicted, no positive
results are expected.

Avayogi planet in 6/8/12 houses, or it is combust or debilitated or lost in planetary


war or fallen (gone to previous rasi in retrogression) or placed in DAGDHA
RASIS, then there will be good/beneficial results. This implies, Avayogi should
not have independent strength, should not be in good bhavas.
DAGDHA RASIS:

For each thithi certain rasis are considered as DAGDHA RASIS. The thithi and its
corresponding DAGDHA RASIS are shown below.

These Dagdha rasis loose their natural characteristics. The bhavas falling in
these Dagdha rasis also loose their significations.
For example, for a native born on Chaturdasi, Mithuna, kanya, Dhanu and Meena
are Dagdha Rasis.
If these rasis are Kendras or Konas, they loose their beneficence. If Dagdha rasis
fall into malefic houses good results of that house can be expected.
Yogi & Duplicate yogi planets should not fall in dagdha rasis.
VARGOTTAMA & PUSHKARAMSA

VARGOTTAMA:
The first navamsa in movable signs, the fifth navamsa in fixed signs and the 9 th
navamsa in duel signs are called vargottama navamsas. The natives born in
these navamsas, i.e., vargottama lagna, will have strong lagna Bhava and will be
chiefs in their families.
A planet in the vargottama navamsa, i.e., in the same rasi and same navamsa,
will give good results in its dasa and antar dasa.

A palnet in movable sign from 000 – 00’ to 030 –20’


A planet in fixed sign from 130 – 20’ to 160 – 40’ is vargottama
A Planet in Duel sign from 260 – 40’ to 300 – 00’

PUHKARAMSA:

MESH, SIMHA & DHANU (FIREY) SIGNS 7TH & 9TH NAVAMSA

VRISHBHA, KANYA & MAKARA (EARTHY) SIGNS 3RD & 5TH NAVAMSA

MITHUNA, THULA & KUMBHA (AIRY) SIGNS 6TH & 8TH NAVAMSA

KARKA, VRISCHIKA & MEENA (WATERY) SIGNS 1ST & 3RD NAVAMSA

are PUSHKARA NAVAMSAS.

Any planet in Pushkara navamsa will give benefic results. Similarly any planet
transiting in Pushkara navamsa will give favorable results.
