Sika® Bitumen 60
Bitumen Emulsion Protective Coating
Description A ready-to-use, one component, high viscosity and thixotropic bitumi-
nous emulsion for the protection of steel and concrete surfaces.
Uses Sika Bitumen 60 is used for waterproofing concrete surfaces, roofs,
bathrooms, floors, external walls etc. It is also used for protection of
structural steel works, pipes etc.
Advantages Sika Bitumen 60 is an easy to use and economical material. Other
benefits are:
- Can be applied on dry and damp concrete substrates
- Odourless
- Protection against chlorides and sulphates containing water

Solid Content Approx. 60% by weight
Curing Time Touch dry after approx. 2 hours

Consumption Total approx. 0.8 -1.0 Kg/m2 applied in 0.6mm thickness
Storage Store in cool and dry place , away from direct heat
Shelf life 18 months minimum if stored properly in original unopened packaging
and protect from frost.

Application
Surface prepara- All surfaces must be clean, free from oil, grease.

Application By brush or trowel. Stir thoroughly before use.
Cleaning Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with soap and
water.
Use Sika Colma Cleaner to dissolve dried Sika Bitumen 60.
Important - Not suitable for contact with potable water - use Igol A
- Not resistant to oil and fuel spillage
- Preferrably apply in shade in extreme temperature conditions

Safety
Precautions Wear gloves and goggles.
Ecology In liquid state can contaminate water.
Do not dispose of into water or soil but according to local regulations.
Toxicity Non-toxic under the relevant Swiss health and safety codes.
Transportation Non-hazardous.
In case of doubt, always follow the directions given on the pack or label.
