Effects of COVID 19
Considering the negative effects caused by COVID 19, the emotional effects are the worst; social
isolation and financial pressures might lead to physiological crisis like: panic attacks, depression and
suicide. In addition, the pandemic outbreak have affected vulnerable societies. Studies indicates that
limited movement and fewer employment opportunities impact people in need disproportionately.
Moreover, although initiatives adopted by the government to minimize social interaction; the pandemic
has disrupted global economic and unemployment at an astonishing rate. As a consequence, COVID 19
has leading to economic downturns and placed millions of livelihoods at risk. The World Health
Organization (2020) state that "tens of millions of people are at risk of falling into extreme poverty".
Another concern to consider are health effects, the coronavirus pandemic can damage the lungs, heart
and brain so that can kill people and spread human suffering. To sum up, the COVID-19 pandemic
presents an unprecedented challenge to mental health and a severe blow to state economies and
workers. Negative effects are devastating but crisis is being overcome.

Emotional effects: CAUSES: In The coronavirus pandemic is an epidemiological and psychological crisis.
Even in this time of physical distancing, it’s critical to seek social support and connection with others.

Worries and anxiety about COVID-19 and its impact can be overwhelming. Social distancing makes it
even more challenging. Learn ways to cope during this pandemic.The COVID-19 pandemic has likely
brought many changes to how you live your life, and with it uncertainty, , and social isolation. worry
about getting sick, how long the pandemic will last, whether you'll lose your job, and what the future
will bring. Information overload, rumors and misinformation can make your life feel out of control and
make it unclear what to do.

Some people have increased their use of alcohol or drugs, thinking that can help them cope with their
fears about the pandemic. In reality, using these substances can worsen anxiety and depression. In the
same manner, Europe and the United States, suicide rates rise about 1% for every one percentage point
increase in unemployment.

Social effects: The economic disruption caused by the pandemic is devastating. The COVID-19 outbreak
affects all segments of the population and is particularly detrimental to members of those social groups
in the most vulnerable situations, continues to affect populations, including For example, homeless
people, because they may be unable to safely shelter in place, are highly exposed to the danger of the
virus. – whether due to , increased xenophobia etc.

Employment Effects:

.These unprecedented challenges are having economic ripple effects across the country . where large
groups of people risk coming into close contact with one another. Additionally, public health officials
and experts have warned Americans to stay home as much as possible and avoid doing anything that
requires close contact with others. Many other businesses have voluntarily closed to protect their
employees and the public as a whole. Perhaps the most visible closure has been the nearly universal
shutdown of the professional sports industry. Those exposed to the virus are being advised to self-
quarantine for at least 14 days presenting financial challenges for workers without paid sick leave.

Additionally, the COVID 19 because of the restriction access to non-essential businesses and closed
shops, so that have affected to thousands of people unexpectedly find themselves out of work with the
potential for significant increases in unemployment.
EFFECTS: As breadwinners lose jobs, fall ill and die, the food security and nutrition of millions of women
and men are under threat, with those in low-income countries, particularly the most marginalized
populations. Without the means to earn an income during lockdowns, many are unable to feed
themselves and their families.

EFFECTS: We are facing a Post-COVID conditions also can include the longer-term effects of COVID-19
treatment or hospitalization. Some of these longer-term effects are similar to those related to
hospitalization for other respiratory infections or other conditions.

Effects of COVID-19 treatment and hospitalization can also include post-intensive care syndrome (PICS),
which refers to health effects that remain after a critical illness. These effects can include severe
weakness and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD involves long-term reactions to a very
stressful event

But we need to understand that this new health world will look very different to the world we have been
used to, but the likelihood is that by adoption of these new modalities in the care of people we can get
closer to better care to everyone, everywhere.
