STUDENTS ACTIVITY

Activity 2.1
PRINCIPLES, MORALITY AND THE TEACHER

Directions: Reflect on your standing personal principle and morality standard.

Give your reflection on each of the given quotes and cite example. Divide the
members of the class into groups and give them time to discuss student’s
reflections. Report to class the outputs of the group discussions.

Quote #1: Bias of Priene, “Most men are simply bad.”

► As I browse in the internet about the quote, “Most men are simply bad.” Bias was a
politician who become a famous legislator from the 6 th century BC. Based on my
principle and morality, I think when people they become famous they starting to be an
arrogant.

Quote # 2: According to one’s view, “the highest number is 5, not 1; yet killing 1 is
equivalent to killing 5.”
► Based on my own interpretation, we don’t talk about the numbers of killing, but we
talk about the crime that occurred. For example, someone stole 1 million and the other
one stole 1 peso. We don’t talk about the value of money, but we talk about the same
theft whether small or large amount of money.

Quote #3: State Confucius’ Moral Principle (The Golden Rule) and reflect on it.
► The golden rule is the principle of treating others as you want to be treated. The
bible also said in the book of Luke 6:31 “and as you wish that others would do to you,
do so to them.
